Had an excellent stay!

My three kids (5, 9, 11) and myself really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin! It had everything we needed for the four of us. We loved the location being so close to the xc ski/hiking trails. It was also very quiet. Be mindful that there isn’t a stove, but there was a plug in hot plate if needed! Overall we loved having this cabin as a base for our rossland adventures and would certainly stay here again!

So close to Red Mountain Resort. The in cabin laundry facilities was a very nice touch. There are a lot of small kitchen appliances that are very useful. The kitchen had everything we needed, including the outdoor BBQ and the small appliances. It's a good size for a small group. I would consider staying again.

Good cabin for short stay

Overall we liked our stay in Aladar's Cabin. It was spacious, clean and conveniently located. However, a few things could be improved. 1) We couldn't park our car in the car port for uncertain reasons because owner blocked it with traffic cones. As a result we had to clean our car from snow every day. Not sure why parking under the roof was not allowed!? 2) The kitchen doesn't have a regular stove, just a small cheap electric burner which was not heating very well. 3) The floors were pretty cold, even in slippers you could feel chilly cement. 4) The bath towels and linens are very old and should be replaced. 5) We could not make TV work with 5 different remotes (no instructions). We managed to connect it to our PC and use it as a screen only.

Red Mountain Resort area cabin

My friend and I spent 4 days at Aladar's cabin near Rossland, BC. The cabin is just off the driveway to the main house. The location is excellent. It is a short drive to Red Mountain Resort, and you can easily walk from the door to the Black Jack Ski club Nordic trail system. The cabin is basic but comfortable, clean, quiet and reasonably-well appointed. The WiFi signal is sometimes weak but proved adequate for streaming Netflix. There is no stove/oven or dishwasher. There are multiple electric appliances such as crock pots, griddles, coffee machines, etc. There is a washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets. The shower in the single bathroom worked well. My only advice for a stay in the winter is to bring good slippers. The electric wall heaters work well, but the concrete floor is very cold and plain socks will not keep your feet warm. Overall, my friend and I were quite comfortable and would stay here again.

Fantastic getaway!

My husband, two boys, and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Cabin. We loved Rossland, Red Mountain, and the peaceful neighborhood of the Cabin. We hiked and biked straight from the property. LOVED it! And hope to be back soon.

We really enjoyed our time. Was peaceful and relaxing. Even though there is no stove there were enough other appliances to cook effectively. Only thing is there was no toaster oven, it was replaced with a microwave compared to the photos.

Renting this property was seamless. It’s a beautiful, clean, spacious cabin with full amenities (minus a stove); surrounded by tall trees, a meadow and a beautiful garden. A tranquil setting close to Red Mountain, the town centre and Nancy Green lake if you are wanting to take a dip. An excellent location for all the outdoor activities in the region. I highly recommend staying here. You will love it.

Magical mountain stay

My wife and I brought our 8month old here for 10 days. The cabin had everything we needed, including play mats to put down on the concrete floors. Great location just out of town with close access to so many trails. Would definitely book here again regardless of the season.

The location was excellent . There were a few things we’d liked to have known beforehand: no stove and recycling bins and the tub was not good for a physically challenged person. Also, no instructions for bbq and tv. Lastly , it was not fragrance free. Very comfortable beds and furniture.

Very close to Red. Quiet, well appointed. Very nice to have laundry and nice that detergent etc was there. Great history of the area books. Only quibble was absence of a floor mat/boot tray or both inside to help reduce tracking of any dirt.

Wonderful to be able to cross country ski right out the front door and just a stone's throw from downhill and backcountry skiing. We did it ALL. Cabin is great. Has all that you need and loved reviewing the book with further adventures to do in the Kootenays. We will be back.

Red Mountain Retreat

Nice 2 bedroom close to Red Mtn. About a 4 minute drive to the hill. Alladar was a gracious host. All of the necessary amenities provided.
