Lovely home with excellent views in a very quiet part of Crestone, CO. Faces majestic mountains to the east and the vast valley to the west. Grand piano, patio/deck, WiFi, very close to hiking trails (walkable), binoculars to see the vast skies at night.

We had a fabulous spring getaway in this gorgeous home. Until you are here, the pictures of the stunning views from this house dont do it justice. Loved stargazing and hiking nearby. House was perfect for our family of 5 people.

My family was able to enjoy staying at this house over the New Year’s period and loved the location. Views from the living room were breathtaking and would be hard to compete with anywhere in nature. The mule deer are all around the home at night and fascinating to watch in the crisp winter air. Honestly, being in the middle of nature in a comfortable house is unbeatable. Our family spent our days between the local hiking trail (down the street) and Great Sand Dunes National Park. Going grocery shopping before you arrive in town is advised, but the local grocery store is extremely well stocked. The house is a perfect location for any family wanting to have family time in a safe, upscale (but casual/relaxed) house that is clean, roomy, has a washer/dryer (a must for families), full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and three bedrooms. The main bathroom is the nicest and has a clean jacuzzi tub. We plan to return in the future, which is the best complement one can make! The host was also super responsive in an 'only if you need it' kind of way, which was nice and made us feel like trusted guests. The house and location near sand dunes, mountains, snow, and grasslands were exactly what works for our family. I would love to be able to hike the Willow Lake Trail daily. Basking in the sunlight of the living room windows is ideal in winter after coming in from a chilly morning walk!

This place is lovely and has great views as advertised and is as appears in the photos and description. Some other things we appreciated: no contact/keypad check-in, good quality and very comfortable king size bed, thick and absorbant towels, amazingly abundant ice machine for endless glasses of ice water on hot days, incredible view of stars, everything on one floor (so no up and down and no loft beds with downstairs bathroom), lots of cooling fans and portable air conditioners, spacious living area, kitchen table with access to outlets for laptop use, few/simple house rules, no unpleasant surprises.

Crestone stay

Super neat home. This place has lots of character and a very accessible layout. Beautiful views all the way around. There was no air conditioning so it was a little stuffy at first but after we got the windows opened up it cooled off really nicely that first evening.

A walk in the clouds

This was an amazing place to stay. The pictures do not do the views justice. Everything was well stocked and every need anticipated. My bed even had heated blankets. The outdoor space was amazing and if you want to take a challenging walk in the mountain air, you are in the right place. We will be back!

STUNNING VIEWS AND GREAT HOST

Beautiful property with amazing views! Only thing that was a little disappointing was that in description of property, it mentions "15 minute drive" to Great Sand Dunes. This is NOT a bad review. Just a suggestion that maybe that part gets edited, because I know some people that would be furious and would absolutely leave a bad review based on that piece alone! I'm not sure if the 15 minutes is just to the North end via back roads or is just 15 minutes to be able to see them or just to hike, but to get to the visitors center at the south end/main entrance, its just over 1 hour away. We have small kids and weren't doing any hiking with them. We just wanted to see the Dunes for first time and experience Medano Creek, and the 15 minutes was a little misleading. We didn't research(our fault), and went by the description, because on the map it does look really close, and most National Parks we have been to have multiple entrances! NOT enough of a disappointment, however, to give this property any less than 5 stars! Beautiful and "EASY" hikes for kids around Crestone and this property was so peaceful w/awesome views! ESPECIALLY THE STARS AT NIGHT! ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHT OR POLLUTION FROM CITY! I grew up fishing from my front porch and now live in the city near Denver. A MUCH NEEDED QUIET AND RELAXING PLACE TO STAY WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! One of the best owners we have ever rented from as well! Reqched out before, during and after to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! WE DID!

Beautiful

This property is beautiful. It sits right below Willow Lake trail and Challenger Mountain. Sunrises were beautiful over the mountain and sunsets were beautiful over the valley. The home was well equipped for a peaceful retreat. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed to cook our own meals. The kids and my wife loved playing the piano and enjoyed the music available to play! My dad and I were able to walk out the front door and hike up to Challenger Point and Kit Carson. The entire family loved the Sand Dunes and relaxing at Hooper’s Pool (sand dunes recreation..I think). The location of the home is perfect for taking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and enjoying the beauty that is all around! Owner was extremely responsive with any questions we had. Thank you so much!

Amazing Little Gem!

We had a great experience at the property. The views are amazing, the home is well maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was very communicative the whole time we were there. We would definitely come back to this area. So much to see and do.....close to hikes, town, site seeing, national parks and wildlife.

Wonderful house

We had a wonderful stay. The house was well-maintained and the property manager was incredibly responsive prior to and during the trip. The views of the mountains were incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Crestone.
