Bears Boards n' Boots offers a quiet retreat for family and friends. Located less than five miles from Hickory Run state park, you can swim in the lake, hike the nature trails, view the relaxing waterfalls, and explore boulder field. In the winter months you can hit the slopes at Jack Frost Big Boulder less than five miles away. Bears Boards n' Boots was made to entertain with a large deck and fire pit with enough to seat twelve.

House was great and host very issue to communicate with. I would suggest having rock salt/melt for driveway. It was a bit slippery due to weather. Also since the area had snow previous to our stay the driveway wasn’t clear which made it difficult to navigate But overall the stay was wonderful

This is the perfect place to stay given the proximity of Hickory Run State Park, Jim Thorpe, and Jack Frost/Big Boulder. It's cozy, functionable, clean, and easy to hang out in any season.

This was our second year at Bears Boards n' Boots. It's just a fantastic place to stay! This place sleeps 10 people, has comfy beds and couches, 2 1/2 baths, a great rear deck, and awesome fire pit area! There's plenty of room for everyone no matter what area of the property your on.Only 20 minutes from attractions in Jim Thorpe. There's numerous pizza shops, Dollar stores, gas stations, pubs, and a little grocery store all within a very short drive from the cabin. Don't hesitate to stay here, it's just a nice place and Shawn and Leah are great hosts! This property has a giant yard area!It would have been nice if the grass was mowed before we arrived. My group likes to play yard games such as Bocce Ball and BucketGolf.The longer length of the grass made it hard to play any yard games.Other than that we had a great stay! Thanks again!

Visited with a group of friends from highschool during our breaks from college. We all fell in love with the couch (multiple of us slept there instead of our beds by accident). Overall great spot to hang out after long day at Jim Thorpe.

Excellent home and location

Owners were super easy to contact if needed, very friendly. Large home that can easily accommodate 8-10 people. Large and private property with an amazing deck, spectacular firepit area, and large open areas for wiffle ball games, frisbee, etc.

A Perfect Pocono Retreat – Highly Recommend!

Bears Boards n' Boots was exactly what we needed for a relaxing escape to the Poconos. From the moment we arrived, the house felt warm and inviting. It was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for a stress-free stay.One of the standout features was the layout. With three separate living areas, each with cozy couches, there was plenty of space for both kids and adults to spread out and do their own thing. The outdoor setup was just as impressive, the fire pit and spacious deck made for great evenings outside. While the rain kept us from spending much time outdoors, the swings around the fire pit were such a fun addition, and the kids absolutely loved them! The deck itself is huge and offers a peaceful view of the trees and forest.The location is another big plus, close to Hickory Run State Park, where we enjoyed hiking and nature walks. If you're looking for a well-located, peaceful stay in the Poconos with easy access to outdoor activities, Bears Boards n' Boots is a great choice. We'll definitely be back!Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Peaceful location

This was an amazing stay full of peace and quiet my family enjoy all the space and comfort that this cabin have communication with owners was no a problem nice size kitchen 2 bathrooms and 1/2 room for everybody and more we enjoy the view and movies this family retreat was something to treasure thanks a lot for letting us inn to tour amazing cabin looking forward to come back on summer thanks again you guys have a lovely home 5 stars I recommended to anybody who is looking for a quiet place away from everything.

Great place to stay in the Pocono's!

All I can say is "WOW"! What a great place to stay in the Pocono's. Especially if you happen to have a larger group going. Let me tell you this....everyone in my group was loving the property. This place has a huge deck out back, plenty of lawn, and a nice size firepit with swings around it. Clean and comfortable inside, with plenty of room. We loved having 3 bathrooms, and two with showers! Updated appliances, K-cup and pour over coffee makers,and a nice double stainless steel kitchen sink. Plenty of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and plenty of plates, bowls, etc. There is a huge table downstairs that works great for poker/tabletop game playing. Also a big screen TV and sectional couches, upstairs and downstairs. We couldn't believe how much room there was inside to stretch out and relax. Three sectional couches. Just a great piece of property to enjoy. We were a little surprised about security cameras being mounted in the front and rear of the property. Especially one pointed right at the fire pit area. This was not mentioned in any part of the rental description. It made a few people in my group slightly uneasy. All in all, everyone enjoyed the property and had an excellent time. We loved it! We cant wait to come back next year and do it all over again. We would like to thank our hosts Leah and Shawn for having us at their awesome place!

We arrive and kitchen was dirty. Have to clean stove , oven . towels was really smelly. We have to buy detergent to wash towels, sheets for all bedding. The refrigerator was completely dirty. Would not stay there again . Call owner and all they said was “ we will talk to the cleaners. I took pic of everything but I can’t attach them.

A wonderful family place

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property was beautiful, the house was so spacious and comfortable. There was lots to do nearby, so many lovely places to see. We ventured into the town of Jim Thorpe, which was amazing. The kids also loved the boulder field and the waterfall. We would highly recommend this place to others, and would love to visit again.
