I found Hostal Alma within easy walking distance of the port, beach and organic grocery. Staff members were extremely helpful and polite. The smaller footprint of the property ensures calm and quietude. My only desire would have been an onsite restaurant. I gladly would stay here again, as opposed to other larger hotels located nearby.

Nettes Hostal, super ruhig gelegen. Alles sehr sauber. Kostenfreier Parkplatz vor der Tür. Unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war sogar mit Terrasse. Das Frühstück war für einen geringen Preis auch spontan zubuchbar. Es war von guter Qualität, aber eher geringe Auswahl - dem Preis angemessen. Ein Pool war vorhanden und sah auch sauber aus. Alle Kontakte mit Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es war z.B. kein Problem extra Decken zu bekommen. Insgesamt war die Ausstattung aber wirklich nur grundlegend. Unsere Betten waren ziemlich hart. Für längere Aufenthalte oder wenn es ständig regnet und man nur drinnen im Zimmer ist, hätte ich es nicht so gut gefunden. Aber wir waren im Grunde nur zum Schlafen da und dafür war es völlig in Ordnung.

Good value for the money. It's a humble 2* hotel, but the room is spacious and the common area is well taken care of, with a nice pool and some greenery. The bed was comfortable and the shower strong. Only negative was that although Expedia states that check out is at 12:00pm (clearly noted in my confirmation e-mail), in reality is at 11am. When we spoke with the gentleman at the reception, he wasn't very friendly and blamed on me for not reading a follow up e-mail they allegedly sent. Unfortunately not a hospitable or friendly person, but other than that, the rest of the experience was positive.

We stayed at the Hostal Alma for one night, and our experience had both ups and downs but overall it did feel clean and safe. Location: It was convenient for the buses to the northern peninsula viewpoints (which you can’t access by car between 10am-10pm). It was a 15 minute walk to the bus in one direction and to the port in the other direction. And the walk felt safe in the dark too. Pros: Check in was smooth and quick, there’s lots of free parking available, and the pool area is nice. It’s also very quiet but still reasonably close to things. The space felt very clean too. Cons: The WiFi was very inconsistent, to the point we weren’t actually able to use it at all. The room had a very strong smell which we believe was from the cleaning products but has a stronger chlorine scent than the swimming pool. We also found that the shower pressure/temperature was good but water would spill out of the shower and flood the bathroom as it’s all one open floor area. We also didn’t find the bed to be super comfortable, but it was totally fine for one night and decent value for the price.
