“There is no gym for hotel guests. Or that’s what I was told. Great and accommodating staff. Very comfortable ”

“Room was large and well cleaned, it came with a sticked kitchenette. The hotel has a nice restaurant in site with outdoor seating overlooking the French Broad River. The hotel was like a museum for the original jail with information on display. The room we stayed in had several original features of the old jail.”

“The sink was slow draining. The shower was too hot and when you tried to adjust it by turning it towards the cold, the water just trickled out and it was still too hot! The floor was so dirty my feet were black and had to be washed from walking across it. The staff was nice. The breakfast was fine: waffles, frozen Jimmy Dean egg sausage, cheese croissants, cereal, toast, bagels. ”

“This cabin is meticulously maintained! The host was always available to answer any questions we had about our visit. If you visit this cabin do not pre-anticipate what you need to bring to make your visit comfortable as it is already there! All you need is food and a positive attitude! When we visited at the end of January 2026 we didn't expect the big snowstorm that was coming... They offered extra accomodations for our stay if needed. (Which we did not take, but very much appreciated the……
