Welcome to this cozy and bright apartment, situated in a prime location in Alkmaar. It’s in a quiet, friendly working-class neighborhood on the edge of downtown, with the train station and city center just a few minutes’ walk away. The beach and dunes are less than 10 kilometers away. You can park right outside the door with a visitor’s permit available in the apartment (valid for 3 hours), or park a little further away in the free parking area.

**The Space**
The apartment is located on the second and top floor. It features a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy sitting area. The loft, where you’ll sleep, has two skylights that offer a beautiful view of the starry sky. The apartment is rented out with bedding, kitchen accessories, and towels included.

**Guest Access**
The apartment is accessible via two flights of stairs and is completely private. The stairwell is shared with the apartment on the first floor. This apartment accommodates two people and is also available for rent on Airbnb under the name City Home Merel, Sunny Balcony and Free Parking. This is ideal if you’re traveling with two couples and still want to have separate private apartments.

**Other important information**
The bed measures 1.80 x 2 meters and is set on pallets with thick, firm mattresses, so you’re not sleeping directly on the floor. The bed is slightly lower, so you can stand next to it but not stand upright.

The neighborhood is currently undergoing renovations, and construction work across the street has begun. An entirely new neighborhood is being built, and construction takes place Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Although we’re doing our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, you may hear construction noise.
