The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center

"The San Luis is one of my favorite properties, it is very elegant with beautiful views of the Gulf. There are plenty of places to sit and relax and read. The heated pool with the swim up bar is perfect for chilling by the pool, even with the cool October wind blowing. Parking, tax and resort fees boost the price a bit, but is mostly worth it. The San Luis is a great hotel and I highly recommend it, and if you stop by, say 'hello' to the parrot."

"This is an older property & you have to realize that right off. But it has been pretty well maintained & updated. Little oddities come along w/ that - like in our bathroom the lavatory handles (to turn on the water) spun around at the base near the counter top rather than as designed. We purchased an upgraded room w/ balcony - but you had to exit the room & cross a secured hallway to utilize this balcony. It's just kind of odd. But overall we enjoyed our stay. The pool area is very nicely done. My only complaint is that the hot tub area is right by the bar where smoking is permitted. So at the end of the day when we wanted to access it - we had to pass as the amount of smoke was unbearable. All of the staff people we encountered were kind & helpful. The breakfast ladies were so sweet & friendly. Would stay here again. It's not super fancy but great for a quick night at the beach get away."
