Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased.

The only thing that was missing for us were washcloths. Maybe that’s not a thing in the UK. We asked for washcloths and they said that they don’t provide them.

Loved everything about our stay except that the bathroom was very small - hard to even dry off after a shower -- the space in the room was so tight. Parking was also challenging. Otherwise, lovely place with very pleasant staff. We were there during a heat wave, and a very nice staff person rounded up a fan for us. We were comfortable with the fan blowing on us all night (there is no AC but we didn't mind). The breakfast was excellent, including the vegetarian full English. Lovely outdoor seating area. Easy walk to the center of the village. I would definitely stay there again.
