"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The lake is gorgeous even if a bit murky at the shore - we took the kayaks out and the canoe both days and enjoyed a fire pit by the water. One of the beds needed a new mattress as it wasn't very comfortable otherwise everything was clean and enjoyable! Thank you Grainne!"

Idyllic Lakefront House Suited Two Families

"Property was a great location! We kayaked to the waterfall and saw a good deal of nature during our week including hummingbirds, ducks, blue heron and one morning a beautiful bear outside the window! Enjoyed grilling and playing games on the deck. Made a fire in the fire pit for s’mores one night with a beautiful almost full moon in the sky above!We were close to all the places we wanted to visit. Lots of sights to see…Woodstock, Sugar Bush farms, Vermont Gorge and VINS was excellent. Local restaurants very good too! The Coleman Brook Tavern was especially enjoyable.The living room chairs were a bit uncomfortable for seniors but other than that accommodations very good. The cleaning women forget to tell the host she used the last kitchen garbage bag but host ordered them as soon as I mentioned it and we received them promptly. More than enough space for the four of us. Could have been a bit cleaner but it being a Lakehouse it was fine. It was great to have a dishwasher & a washer & dryer. The a/c in the master bedroom cooled off the living room area since it’s placed to do that and we appreciated that on the humid days!All in all we had a wonderful week together at the Lakehouse."

"This is large, comfortable house set in the woods on the side of mountain in VT. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the pool was clean, relaxing and came with floats! The waterfall element in the pool area is lovely but the pump made a bunch of noise so we didn't use it much. We thought the jacuzzi tub would be available - it wasn't. It's label "Broken Do Not Use". The house was generally clean but could use a more attention to the cobwebs in the corners. The windows in the pool room are literally rotting and falling apart so this room while wonderful to hang out in could use some attention. The decks are nice but the view is only of the surrounding woods. The availability of Alexa/music in every space was a nice bonus.The instruction book on the counter doesn't match the instructions received by email so I'd recommend the host make those corrections (the oven/microwave section and check out in particular). This caused confusion and wasted time during check out.There are no extra blankets, bath towels, kitchen towels or paper towels available. It would have been nice to have an extra blanket for the bed but we made it work. We were provided with a single roll of paper towels. We cooked every meal so keeping everything clean meant we ran through those paper towels quickly.Otherwise a great stay. I will say the hill climb to get to the house is extreme so 4WD/AWD would be required to get there in the winter."

"Exactly as described in the listing: with being rustic but having everything you need to have a great Vermont cabin getaway. The cabin was very clean overall with the exception of an odd odor coming from the wall where the couch is. Most likely aging changing of the resin in the wood. The kayak availability was great and the lake is so much better from out on the water. Quiet cozy rustic camp sums it up."

"A luxurious “treehouse ”. Beautifully designed. Everything worked. Everything clean and comfortable. The management company “First Chair” (a skier’s term) was quiet and dependable like a Swiss Clock. Our deepest and sincere thanks to the host and to First Chair for accepting us as guests!"
