Great Girdwood Property

The property was spacious, clean and neat. Perfect place for a ski trip with close access to the mountain. Love the beautiful mossy trees surrounding the property, and the Hot Tub was perfect for relaxing after a long ski day!

Great Girdwood Getaway

Great quirky spot tucked into the woods in Girdwood. House easily accommodated our group of 6 including kids. Lots of room to hang out and appreciated the kitchen well stocked with pots/pans and spices. Great location with easy access to Virgin Creek Falls and the day lodge. Oven worked well as did the hot tub!

This is a gorgeous and unique property. It was generally comfortable and was really clean. We wished the beds and pillows were less cheap/more comfortable given the price of the stay.

Lovely Girdwood Getaway

We spent a ski weekend with our family and enjoyed the house very much. The upper bedroom feels like your sleeping in the tree canopy. Plenty of beds and bedding, well-equipped kitchen, and quiet location.

What a great house for a big group. We stayed here with our family for a hockey tournament in Anchorage slept all 8 of us comfortably. Such a unique gem!!! Highly recommend!

Beautiful Chalet Stay

Excellent stay in Girdwood. Beautiful chalet in beautiful setting! Well stocked kitchen for cooking, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Would recommend for families & friend groups. Property photos & listing were accurate. Bonus for us was walkability to beautiful waterfall hike within neighborhood. Also convenient to downtown Girdwood, Aleska Resort, and many activities.

Mother’s Day & 40th Birthday

Our family has found that spending time together under one roof is special. This place was comfortable and clean. The fact pets were welcomed was such a bonus. We had an enjoyable weekend.

Fabulous Hide A Way in the Woods!

This place was tucked away in the woods but still close enough to everything! Lots of stairs but that’s ok! It helped after all the eating we did. The glass room was super cool. If I wasn’t on the porch drinking my coffee, I was in the glass/sunroom. The place was equipped with everything you need. Fabulous place to stay!

Clean, narrow kitchen very easy to get around. Tree house is good description. 3 adults and 5 kids under 12. Not good for toddlers given stairs nor god for 8 adults given bedrooms and sleeping.

This property has great potential. Good location, spacious and nice kitchen but really needs some repairs, especially the electrical system. We mentioned this in our review with manager and no response.

Worst property we have rented ever!!!

The house is not suitable for 8 people as said in the listing. The house was very unclean, dog hair everywhere, The yard was overgrown, Outside of the house had mold. It is a very old property. The Kitchen is barely usable. The furniture, utensile, dishes, even coffee cups kept in the house where every run down. Seemed like they pulled all used very old stuff from many different places and furnished this house. Terrible experience

Worst Vacation Rental Ever

1-Electrical outlets in upstairs bedroom were failing and needed replaced. Which had to completed during out stay.2-Hot Tub was so disgusting upon arrival that management had to be called for maintenance and cleaning. 3-Beercans were left in Hot Tub area.4-Lighting in main living area constantly flickers.5-Upstairs bathroom outlets worked intermittently. 6-Burners on stove did not work properly.7-Entrtway heater didn't work.8-3rd floor bathroom heater didn't work.9-Dryer door doesn't stay closed. Impossible to do laundry.10-Downstairs bedroom across from entry-way smells like black-mold. I would never put children in this bedroom.11- Garbage left underneath bunkbeds.12-Old articles of clothing left underneath bedroom across from entryway.13-Disgusting used clothing in the hot tub area. 14-Old clothing underneath beds in bedroom adjacent to downstairs bathroom.The rental management was responsive atleast. They gave us a whole 5% off on our rental. The homeowner needs to approve lots of updates, and also let people know that this is a VERY dated home with issues. Never again, put some money into your investment.

Spacious but doesn’t sleep/shower well

We had 6 adults and, given it advertises 8+, we had some unhappy guests in our party. Two twin bunk beds as advertised but otherwise one king, a full bed, and a futon. Not very comfortable for a couples weekend as we thought it would be. One of the couples ended up sleeping in the bunk beds. Hot water doesn’t last very long. It went cold and then entirely shut off when one guest was showering. Cleaning fees are ridiculous when you have to drive the trash a mile down the road in your personal vehicle. Overall pretty place in a great location but not the best experience.

Older house that is spacious and quiet. If you are into style, it's not for you. If you don't care about mismatched dishes and furniture, go ahead (we don't). That being said, for the price it is a bit surprising. The one important criticism I have is the quality of the beds. The master bedroom is beautifully located within the treetops but that bed is really hard. Futon beds are really hard (not surprising but just not comfy). The bunk beds are very rickety thank goodness none of us had to sleep in the upper bunk. We liked the house overall, but just not as nice and comfortable as the vast majority in the price class. With some investments this could become a 5 star property.

Communication

We are locals who decided to book a chalet to stay in for a wedding we were attending in the area. Upon arrival the check in information given to me was incorrect. It took 15 minutes of being on hold and prompting the customer service agent for more information. She sounded like she was reading off instructions that we didn’t have. When we got into one lock box - a key was missing (it was under the deck and dishes still in washer) the other lock box has a separate code and so does the door. We were only there for 2 nights (a $900 + weekend though) and the hot tub was Luke warm on our arrival. No instructions or assistance in trying to figure out how to make it work. When i messaged the customer service agent through the app the reply was “sure you can turn the heat down!” We figured it out but for a 2 night stay and only 1 with an actual Hot - Hot Tub is a little frustrating. I feel like if there would have been ab actual host to talk to there wouldn’t have been so many issues. The 3rd step up on the stair case to the master bedroom has a nail sticking up through the carpet. Took my husband and I multiple stabs to remember to walk on the left side of the stair case. The master bedroom bed is 2-Twins pushed together and it feels like they put a piece of plywood down with a piece of memory foam on top and called it a day. All in all this is still a wonderful property- we love girdwood and the fact that we could have our dog with us was a huge game changer.
