"Breakfast was good; fresh-ground coffee was a bonus. We had a beautiful view of the countryside & sunset from our room. The only negative was a periodic smell of natural gas laundry dryers venting back into the 3rd floor, probably due to windy weather conditions."

"Although the check in staff was courteous and pleasant, it didn’t make up for the facility. The tile flooring in our room was dirty. It was nice that they had four pillows on our bed. However, all four were exactly the same so unless you like the big thick firm pillow, you had to have no pillow. I would not chose this hotel again."

"Everything was as advertised. The breakfast was very good and shopping close. The only concern was the ability to find the hotel. GPS will take you to the address area but the building is off the road. Not enough signs to lead you. "

"Upon check-in, the front desk was rude. As soon as my child found a cockroach at the swimming pool, we thought hard about having to leave. Packing up we realized the room itself was in terrible shape. Food stains on walls, dirty linens, pieces of food along walls. I wanted to try to make it work so I asked for a vacuum. I kept finding more disgusting things. Even the ice bucket and tray were coated in sticky goo. Microwave was unplugged. Found out it had a burnt smell inside. We left 2 hours later after thinking about it over dinner. Front desk man said Nisha the manager would refund in the morning. I called, expressed my concerns and she said because I “used” the room (mind you we didn’t sleep there) we couldn’t get a refund and hung up on me. When Hotels called, she claimed I trashed the room. "

"The cottage was a terrific place for our family’s visit to Angola. We had a great time inside and outside of the house. The cottage is cozy, welcoming, clean, family friendly and dog friendly. It has great WiFi access, which was very helpful since I barely had signal. The outdoor area is a very good size for kids to play and a dog to run around, a dock to fish from, a little firepit, and a bonus was finding big outdoor toys for kids. The cottage also has a cozy fireplace, a nice game seating area and my favorite - a great big window seating area to read and stare out at the lake in a cozy environment on cooler/cold days. The only issues we found were substandard cookware (but I find this at most seasonal rentals due to wear & tear), non-working appliances (2x blenders did not work), and metallic/rusty tap water. The owner has a water cooler so drinking water is available. These were not deal breakers for us, especially since drinking water was provided. Based on previous reviews, you can tell the owner has really taken the feedback and applied it, showing that they care about their guests’ experiences. It was not peak season, so it was quiet and calm during our visit. We really loved it and are definitely planning to try to book it in future visits. "
