"While the staff were nice and the beaches were great, the property and the sea view queen room was a bit antiquated and the tile floors need some attention especially around the edges and corners. The hall ceilings leaked leaving water puddles; no elevators and no one to assist with carrying luggage to the 3rd floor; no bottled water or bathroom amenities or room service; and no WiFi in the rooms. In fact it was horrible everywhere -we had a hard time completing our flight check in and immigration departure online. The birds were in the bread and eating off tables which lead us to observe bird poop on light fixtures in dining area. The property definitely needs some love and attention. I enjoyed my trip but I wouldn’t return to this establishment. Best-"

"Not a waterfront property, it has a view of a crowded public beach at the base of a steep climb. The bungalows are cute and clean but very modesty furnished with cheap furniture, thin towels, and minimal kitchen. The owner won't provide a gate code so one often has to street park and drag self, groceries, and luggage up an arduous, steep climb. The restaurant is seldom open, in a week and coming and going I never saw anyone eating there. No window screens, lots of mosquitoes and no-see-ums to join in the late night racket from beach parties. "

"PROs: The property is very clean. The gardens and grounds are kept neat and all areas are clean. The huge pool is wonderful. It is a secure resort so we felt very safe. On-site grocery was great to keep costs down. Inexpensive food options are available (cafe with crepes; pizza, etc), there are nightly activities (dancing, music, etc). Nice beaches are right in front of the hotel. Staff helpful and friendly! sunsets are amazing. CONS: The resort has an old feel. Rooms feel dated and somewhat 'patched up' in places. You feel like you are stepping back in time but there is also certain old school charm nonetheless; concrete walkways are cracked in many places giving it a worn appearance. For the luxury level prices, the place could have been more updated. There are daily excursions through a third party company but prices are very high. Complementary shuttle to airport would have been appreciated. "

"HOTEL DOUCE VAGUE is a traditional-style apartment hotel located on the ocean front, just 20 minutes walking distance from the city center of Sainte-Luce. Three nearby cozy beaches of the Gros Raisin are just a few minutes away from the hotel facility. There are two beach bars on one of the beaches, and an ice cream shop across the street from the hotel. In the city center of Saint-Luce, many small traditional restaurants offering a variety of seafood dishes, are lined along the seashore. The spacious family-size apartments have a fully equipped kitchen, and can sleep up to 5 people. The staff is highly professional, friendly, and passionate about their work. The front desk manager, and the housekeeper, will do everything to keep the customer satisfied. The gardener, is constantly grooming the abundant green plants and the colorful flowers of the lush garden surrounding the property. My wife and I have spent three wonderful weeks at the HOTEL DOUCE VAGUE, and we felt at home.We highly recommend HOTEL DOUCE VAGUE for their top-rated beachfront location, the excellence of their services, and the reasonable cost of the stay. "

"Très décevant. Points positifs : Accueil chaleureux. Petite piscine propre. Belle vue. Proximité en voiture de Sainte-Luce. Points négatifs : Allée très raide de 100 m. Dangereuse pour les conducteurs peu expérimentés ou en cas de pluie. Certains escaliers (accessibles sans voiture) étaient cassés et dangereux. La plage n'est pas à 3 minutes (c’est 25 mins) à pied comme annoncé. Peu d'eau chaude. Lit et oreillers très plats. Nous n'avons pas bien dormi une seule nuit. Pas de serviettes de plage ni de chaises longues comme indiqué. Une seule serviette par personne pour notre séjour de presque une semaine (pas de serviettes pour les mains ni le visage). Manque d'essuie-tout et de torchons dans la cuisine. Planche à découper et éponges dégoûtantes, vieilles et sales, couteaux émoussés et certains rouillés. Comble de l'irrespect, l'hôte nous a suggéré de séjourner dans un hôtel 5 étoiles la prochaine fois. Nous sommes donc partis deux jours plus tôt et elle a gardé le supplément. Nous adorons la Martinique et y venons souvent, mais nous ne recommande pas cette location."
