Villa Mylo is nestled in one of the most lush and breathtaking regions of Northern Crete, within the picturesque village of Kefalas, offering spectacular views and unique architectural charm. The house has been fully renovated and decorated to provide its guests with an authentic traditional Cretan atmosphere, combined with luxury and convenience. The villa occupies 180 sqm of a 400 sqm plot, with a beautiful 36 sqm swimming pool in the internal courtyard.



The villa is divided into two floors and can accommodate up to 8 people. The ground floor features one bedroom with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a dining room, a living room with a TV/DVD set, and a bathroom. On the second floor, there are two more bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed both with air conditioning and another bathroom. From the living room a wooden staircase leads to an open loggia with two additional single beds.The interior of the villa is thoughtfully designed. Viennese furniture and antique objects create a warm and elegant ambiance that harmonizes perfectly with the character of the house.



The villa’s exterior is just as impressive. The swimming pool invites guests to cool off on warm days, while the surrounding terrace offers ample space to lounge and soak up the sun as there are sun chairs and outdoor furniture for use.



Villa Mylo is situated in the village of Kefalas, 33 km east of Chania city, in the Apokoronas prefecture. This region is known for its green and fertile landscape, with flowing waters and rolling hills. Kefalas village offers a tranquil atmosphere and provides the facilities you may need during your stay. Three charming traditional tavernas serve local dishes based on Cretan recipes, and the warm hospitality of their owners is truly memorable. A couple of mini markets cater to your everyday needs, offering a variety of products, fresh vegetables, and fruits.



The surrounding landscape shows beautiful architecture and an abundant natural environment with breathtaking views of the White Mountains. A visit to this stunning area will help you understand why it is so famous and beloved. Small traditional villages hidden among green hills, friendly locals, rich historical and cultural monuments, and some of the island's finest restaurants await you. Kefalas village is located 9 km south of Almyrida, a well-organized resort with two sandy beaches, sunbeds, umbrellas, a mini market, an ATM, bars, pubs, and numerous local taverns where you can savor traditional cuisine.

Great stay

Great villa and pool - had a lovely stay here for 2 weeks. Very quiet and peaceful and the cleaner was excellent. A better bbq would have improved our stay as we had two young children, we often wanted to put them to bed and then have a bbq for ourselves but we managed with what they had.

Schönes Haus mit kleinen Mängel

Grundsätzlich schönes Haus mit tollem Pool. Es waren auch Betten für 8 Personen vorhanden, allerdings zwei Betten über eine Treppe im Wohnzimmer zu erreichen, bei der Hitze nicht ganz so schön. Fernseher ohne Funktion, da die SAT-Anlage mit der Warmwasseraufbereitung zugebaut wurde. Kochgeschirr bei weitem nicht ausreichend vorhanden (2Töpfe, 1 Pfanne). Klimaanlage im Schlafzimmer oben defekt. Sonnenschirm leider nur einer bei drei Ständern vorhanden und die Terassenmöbel schon sehr altersschwach. Fazit: Wir hatten das Gefühl dass vor uns schon lange Zeit niemand im Haus gewohnt hat.

Tolles Haus mit Meerblick

Es waren tolle Herbsttage, die wir in Kefalas verbringen durften. Coronabedingt waren wir zwei Personen weniger als geplant, wir hätten aber auch zu siebt ausreichend Platz in der Villa gehabt. Der Pool war im Oktober durch die kälteren Nächte schon sehr sehr frisch......!

Großzügiges Haus in ruhigem „Bergdorf

Buchung und Bestätigung finden flüssig statt und mit angenehmer Kommunikation. Die bebilderte Anfahrtbeschreibung ist ein schönes Plus. Vor Ort trifft man auf eine sehr freundliche und hilfreiche Hausbesorgung. Zwischendurch Handtuchwechsel und Müllentsorgung. Der schöne Pool ist absolut sauber und Tag und Nacht einladend. Ein Kaffee-Tresen und Minimarkt (auch am Sonntag) sind gleich „um die Ecke“. Ein Auto ist absolut notwendig wenn man mehr sehen möchte als nur das Dörfchen Kefalas. Die niedrige Garage eignet sich gut für normalhohe Fahrzeuge. Die Gassen und Abzweige um das Haus inmitten der Altstadt sind eng. Wir haben -leider nur- eine Woche hier sehr genossen!

This a lovely villa in a small village It has everything you need The village is neat There is a very nice taverna within easy walking distance It it has very good food and great service On your first try the villa is challenging to find We arrived later at night when it was dark which made finding the villa more difficult Would strongly recommend gettting there in the light Would definitely come back here and recommend to friends Allan Pack

We had a great stay in Villa Mylo. It's a very nice property in a relaxed village, not far from the coast. The pool is great and we loved having supper on the upstairs terrace.

Amazing place to stay in Crete!

This is a beautiful Villa, no doubt: spacious, nice distribution of the space, amazing pool, kitchen is modern and has everything needed to prepare a meal, location is incredible, the views to die for, the neighborhood is nice and close to nice places to eat. Found a cheese/ yogurt factory around the block so we have amazing products for breakfast. The cleaning lady is gracious, sweet, and tried her best to be sure we were ok. The supermarkets are 5 min walk and the most amazing beaches are between 25 and 2 hours drive. I cannot give 5 starts because the house as beautiful as it is has few things that can improve and make the place a 5 start: needs better pillows, the WiFi worked just the last 2 days of our 7 day stay so better to bring your own data, the loft were my daughter slept doesn’t have any window or AC so it was very hot, and little details here and there that take off some of the beauty of this incredible place.

Wonderful - booking again for next year

Wow. Absolutely wonderful villa, for a very reasonable price. There’s a couple of tavernas nearby. The directions given were perfect and had no trouble booking. The cleaning lady met us at the door as we arrived. Plenty of room and the pool area is brilliant. The underground garage was a real bonus. Will definitely be renting again. Thank you

Fantastic Villa perfect idyllic location

Lovely villa with lots of character in quiet village location

Villa Mylos is a lovely, well-equipped old house in a quiet village. We received a warm welcome from Roula: she showed us around and explained things. The sea view from the balcony is great and from nearby in the village you get a stunning view of the White Mountains. There is a good restaurant within walking distance, and also a cafe and two mini-markets. The village streets are very narrow and tortuous, so do not hire a large car! However, the villa has a large, cool garage for parking. The water supply was a bit erratic, ranging from feeble to non-existent, but you always have a pool full of water for use in an emergency! We only swam in the pool once, because when we came home in the evenings it was usually too cold, but it is lovely. There were a lot of other English people in the area - whether this is good or bad is entirely a matter of opinion! If you like walking, the Tourist Office in Vamos can provide information on local walks.

A Cretan experience.

0ur group of four had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Villa Mylo. It is a very well constructed villa with excellent facilities. The outside area with the pool was greatly used. The pool maintenance with the clarity of the water was one of the best we have encountered over many years visiting different countries. There was a thorough cleaning of the villa prior to and during our stay, with beds changed regularly by a very helpful and lovely staff member. When we encountered a problem with the door lock, it was professionally fixed the next day. Cooking facilities and equipment was generally excellent - although some new thick based frying pans / small saucepans and a decent barbecue are needed. We greatly appreciated the Air Conditioning in the upper floor bedroom and were surprised to find it hadn't been included in the lower floor bedroom, especially at the height of Summer. On many evenings,we made great use of the Meterizi Taverna, which was within walking distance of the Villa. Their Friday night Greek evening with two excellent guitarists will long stay in our memories. A car is essential to explore part of this region. The secure garage built below the swimming pool was a bonus. A very enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Perfect family villa with pool

Our stay at the villa was fantastic. Loads of space inside for a family (2 adults and 3 over-18's) and with the pool area immediately outside the large kitchen the usable space is massive. Arrived at the villa to find it just as in the photos. Spotlessly clean. Located in quiet village but two very good Taverna's within 2 min walk along with mini-market. Village is set on a hill so views to the sea from the pool area and the first floor terrace. Handy garage for parking. Short drive to either Almyrida or Giorgiopolous for lovely clean beaches, clear water and seafront cafes. Can't recommend highly enough.

Brilliant house very comfortable and clean. Very friendly village, everyone most welcoming

This was a truly wonderful place to stay. We have been coming to Crete for twelve years and still discovering total gems on the island. The villa and town of Kefalas rates highly on the list. We were a family of 8 and had a minibus which unfortunately was too tall to go in the garage, this being said parking on the street behind the villa was available. It was so peaceful in the villa which led to a totally relaxing holiday. We had a great night at the local taverna with fabulous food and music

Perfect retreat, central to best towns

The position of the villa is perfect, in a village with some life, courtesy of the two tavernas, but in a quiet location off the main drag. Nearby is the town of Vamos, where a local tourist organization will help you get in touch with the authentic Crete, from cheesemaking to cooking to hammering out goat bells by hand. A little further is Rethymno, a charming port town that we preferred to Chania. The villa itself is comfortable and quite well stocked wh kitchen ware if you'd like to cook, and a barbecue too. The pool is greatly appreciated on hot days, ideal for a cool-off after an outing. Roula, who cleans the place, and Leonidas who takes care of any technical problems with the house (we had very low water pressure one day) are very friendly and responsive. And if you need more information about local life or happenings, Spiros at the mini mart and Maddie at the taverna are also friendly and happy to chat. We would definitely stay here again; love Crete, love Kefalas, love Villa Mylo.

Schönes Haus, schöne Lage!

Wir waren zwei junge Pärchen + Baby in September eine Woche da. Das Haus und die Umgebung hat uns alles sehr gefallen! Wir waren positiv überrascht, dass wir auch 2x Besuch von einer netten Putzfrau bekommen haben. Pool wurde auch sauber gemacht - top! Netten Tevernas im Dorf und zwei kleine Supermärkte für das wichtigste. Gute Küche wo wir mehrmals gekocht haben - und gegrillt. Wir würden gerne nochmal da Urlaub machen 😊

Great location, very clean pool but need a better barbecue and equipment.

We have had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Mylo. The villa and pool were very clean and we loved having fresher sheets and towels and someone to clean mid week. The location is great, would definitely recommend the Meterizi restaurant in Kefalas, especially with the live music on Friday nights. We also particularly loved the views from the villa. We would recommend for future visitors to leave a welcome pack with milk, water, bread (the basics) and a few suggestions of what to do in the region. Also we would have quite liked a better barbecue and utensils. Things we would recommmend to do in the local area: - Lake Kournas with pedalos - Samaria Gorge walk - Quad biking in Georgiopolis - Chania day trip (remember swimsuits to go snorkelling on boat trip!) - Elafonisi beach (but beware very long journey and very crowded so not really worth it) Overall, this has been a great holiday and we would thoroughly recommend staying at Villa Mylo.

The villa is amazing, exactly as it looks like in the photos.

The village of Kefalas is idyllic. Completely away from all the usual tourist stuff but still a relatively easy drive to Georgiopoulis or Chania. The tavernas in the village are great (The Meterizi is of a really high standard) and the two little mini-markets provide pretty much everything you need and some great local produce too. The villa itself is of a hugely high standard, both building and furnishings - showers are great too! The upstairs double bedroom is one of the most fabulous places to wake up in! The outside space is lovely and there is always somewhere to find sun or shade at any time of day. The pool is beautiful - unfortunately because of the awful weather we had for most of the time we were there we didn't really get to use it as much as we would have liked. We loved it - just wish we'd been luckier with the weather - but even the locals said it was 'crazy weather'! Can thoroughly recommend this home from home.
