"Stayed 2 nights in the historic room located in the Lowen Haus that is stunning! Felt like I was in an Architecture Digest video.
Service was excellent and so was dinner at the a la carte restaurant; I may even say I had the best meals by far during my 1 week in Switzerland.
While the surrounding area is relatively quiet, location of the hotel is just a short walk from Gonten station which takes you to Appenzell town within 15 minutes.
P.S., My rental car had a flat tyre on drive over and...
