My girlfriend and I stayed in the hotel le littoral for 3 nights and got a decent feel for this southern French town about an hour outside of Marseille. The host, we never got his name was very friendly and spoke enough English to help answer questions we had. The room was above the restaurant that served the best food in town. In room 12 we stayed in a slanted bed (that kept my girlfriend close) with a shower/tub attached. The floors were tile and gritty dirty. My only complain about this place were the sqeeky doors. All 15 doors could be heard at any point of th day or night trough the paper thin walls. The maid did a bunch of ironing at the end of the hall sure to wake us up. Every time she would open the supply cabinet the would be a loud sqqqqeeeeeeekkkkkkkk! That would draw any one out of bed in a maddened red stage.
Over all, they the hotel was convienent to the small pedestrian square, far from the ocean, and loud and sqeeky. I recommend some WD-40 for those door hinges ASAP. We had a train back into the city at 14:00 and needed a taxi but it was the time of the day the town shuts down, so the owner was super kind and shut down his restaurant and took us to the station! Great guy.
