Beautiful spacious cabin

We are very happy with the accommodation. The cabin was clean, had plenty of essential items for cooking. Well stocked on towels and other items. It was great to only be a short drive away from Hendersonville, Brevard and Asheville. We had a great time and definitely plan to stay again.

Nice place

I enjoyed everything about the stay. The only thing I would change is the central air and heat. It only bleeds out cold air, other than that is was an awesome accommodation.

Wonderful Vacation

We enjoyed our time at Thunder Lodge ! The cabin is very spacious. We enjoyed the fire put, propane grill, and the hot tub ! We loved that it had too very spacious porches with a rocking chair, and table and chairs for us to enjoy hanging out outside. We met the sweetest neighborhood cat Sam, who was super friendly. We loved all the windows, and the game room/library for the kids. The cabin was very well stocked with everything we needed.

Perfect Cabin!

We absolutely loved our stay at Big Thunder Lodge. The A-Frame house was stunning in person, and I liked that we were tucked away in the woods but close enough to a main road that I didn't have to worry about cell service in an emergency. My 3-year old got a big kick out of the "triangle" room and the friendly neighborhood cat. We had everything we needed and it was extremely clean. The location was excellent for our day trips to an apple orchard and gemstone mine. Really impressive!!

Great stay and getaway

First time booking VRBO so I was kind of nervous. This place was as good as described if not better. Very clean and had everything you needed for a long or short stay. Sitting on the deck with a drink and just watch the world go by. Also the hot tub was just icing on the cake. Loved the game room played cards chess and yes some foosball. A little bit of a drive to get to so places but that's the pay off of a joyful and relaxing place. will book again when we come back down for the Hendersonville apple festival.

Amazing Cabin!!!

This beautifully hidden gem is nestled on a hillside just off the beaten path of the city life. It was just what we needed to relax from the city. The breath taking view and the sweet sounds of nature took it all away. This beautifully done cabin has everything you need from dishes, towels and magically comfortable beds. The pictures do no justice to this majestic little cabin. The hot tub looks over a picture perfect view of the Carolina's beautiful forest. I would like to point out how fresh and clean it was. We were completely pleased and would love to recommend this place over and over. We will definitely visit again!!

This was a gem, and secluded with no noise to speak of. Neat clean and so well stocked for all you could possibly ask for. all shops and activities were so close. PERFECT! We will be back.

Lovely Place for a Weekend Away

We had a lovely weekend stay. The cabin is just as described and is an easy drive to downtown Hendersonville and nearby hiking and attractions.

Perfect cabin in the mountains!

We wanted a cabin close to Hendersonville for the Apple Festival! This cabin was just what we needed with lots of room for 5 of us, comfy beds and all we needed in the kitchen. And the front porch was wonderful!!! And a hot tub too!

Great Location for Hiking

The cabin was in a great location near everything you wanted to do or see. Only downside is that the cabin needs some updates to the furniture and bedding which is very uncomfortable. Also one bath is an issue for a larger family, so that would keep us from bringing our family to this cabin. There is also a problem with the lighting in the bathroom as it flickers on and off.

Quiet Cabin with lots of space

We loved the house. We used it as a base to visit our grown son who is a camp counselor at nearby Camp Talisman, hike trails in the area and tour regional sites. Although I was worried it was “rural”, that was not a problem. There was a large grocery store 10 minutes away and a neighborhood food/gas store that was well stocked only 3 minutes away. We found fantastic restaurants in Flat Rock & Hendersonville. We will definitely return!

Spacious home

We loved the ample space, the hot tub, game room and loft, and the home was convenient to exploring the mountains and Asheville! It was a great space to meet our grown children for a weekend getaway! We wouldn’t say it was luxury amenities or bathed in natural light, though. For the roughly $800 we paid for 2 nights, it was surprising to find most of the outdoor lighting didn’t work (which made arriving at night difficult), carpets that needed a good cleaning, and a sagging master mattress. The bathroom light switch made a scary electrical noise at times when trying to turn on the light, too. The home is in a beautifully and densely wooded area, which significantly limited the sunlight, if you are looking for lots of natural light. Many reviews mentioned welcoming brownies. That was not our experience. Overall, though, it was a nice stay and a great place to bring family together! The description is a little misleading and while the home appears to have been kept up fairly well, it is in need of a little attention to be considered “luxury” amenities.

Charming Getaway Home

We were looking for an budget-friendly spring break location that we could unwind as a family and do something different than our typical beach and tourist trap vacations. This hit the mark with hiking, parks, spacious house, and hot tub. We hiked at DuPont State Forest, which is perfect for families. The home matched the listing perfectly — including ONE bathroom. It honestly wasn’t a big deal. The house is well stocked with all you need to cook, bath, and clean up. We really appreciated that it didn’t have just one trash bag or roll of toilet paper, like some properties do. There was plenty of room to spread out. The kids loved the game room. Last, but not least, the family loved Sam the cat. He belongs to the neighbor, but seems to have appointed himself the keeper of the house because he could be found lounging on the porch or in the grass. He’s very friendly.

Lovely Cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub after a day of sightseeing and hiking. The kitchen had plenty of supplies to prepare our meals each day. Thank you so much!

We had a good time on our two day trip. The cabin was very clean and spacious. Our only complaint is that there is only one bathroom which is located downstairs. The owners should really think about adding another bathroom to the house.

A very pleasant stay

We (a family of 5 with kids 7, 5 and 2) stayed in this property over Thanksgiving weekend. We enjoyed the spacious second floor, the cozy fireplace, and, of course, the hot tub. The only suggestion would be to have the kitchen stocked a little better (there was no salt, grater and other things commonly encountered in rental properties). Other than that, it was a great stay and close to good places for hiking.

Great weekend get away

The cabin is lovely, there is a lot of space, areas where our teens could be free to be by themselves, watch their own TV etc. Loved the location as well. The icing on the cake was I casually mentioned we were coming for my daughters birthday, upon our arrival they had a container of brownies and one had a cute wrapper and candle. Thanks for a GREAT trip!
