「Lovely staff great breakfast」

「Lovely hotel / inn with huge stylish bedrooms and fantastic bar with open fire. Food (fresh pizza) was amazing - some really interesting flavours. Breakfast fresh and very hearty. Highly recommended! Can’t remember the last time I went to a hotel this good.」

We thought the main bedding could be better with a bit more blackout curtain/blinds as the ambient lights outside were on for a longer period at night - these are some feedback for the sake of it. 「The lady owner was friendly and lovely from the moment I arrived. I was made to feel very welcome and was even treated to a plate of home made biscuits. The bed was comfy and I had an amazing night's sleep. Breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to me and everything was very fresh. The bread and jam were also home made. The property is in a very quiet location and in lovely gardens and provides a great place to stay during a visit to the lake district. 」

「We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. 」
