Peaceful, modern home that birdwatchers will love

Our small family loved staying at this lovely, well designed and very clean home on the Columbia river about 15 minutes east of Astoria. We spent as much time as we could outside on the back patio deck enjoying the view and good weather and did lots of bird watching. The beds were very comfortable, and it was easy to cook in the kitchen, play games and watch a movie in the living room. We were also happy to have AC during hot afternoons. It's a quick trip into Astoria for sightseeing, shopping and restaurants, and the weather was warmer & less windy at the house than in town which was nice. The only downside was the lack of window coverings in the bedrooms so morning sunlight woke us up early - hopefully they will remedy that as we hope to return next year.

Beautiful place, great location, wonderful views. Not quite as clean as expected. We looked forward to sitting on the deck but the furniture had a bunch of bird crap and spider webs on it so my wife was turned off and wouldn't go out there. Usual surfaces were clean, but anything not thought of was dusty. Could use a good detail once a month, especially at that price. Shower head and shower curtain rod needs an upgrade.
