Wonderful staff, cool concept, and the hotel focused on a comfortable bed, dark room, and great breakfast. That’s all you really need. It does lack a gym and on site parking. We did not need either for our short stay, so that worked out well for us

Favourite Athens hideaway
This is my preferred hotel in Athens now, having stayed in many across the city over the past 6 years. The location is great. There is easy access to the M3 metro, which goes directly to the airport and Piraeus, plus Kolonaki is ideal for bars, cafes and restaurants. Staff are friendly and super helpful, and of course the natural beds are divine. I always sleep well!

Another comfortable and relaxing stay with Coco Mat Athens. Service was professional and the team were very attentive throughout my visit. My room was clean and quiet and i always felt very well looked after.

The food service was excellent. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. I would recommend having some sort of shower enclosure in the bathrooms. Also, the odor from the bathroom is unpleasant I commend your commitment to earth conservation.

Five star stay at Coco-Mat
We had a great stay at Coco-Mat. This is a little cute boutique hotel close and convenient to many attractions in Athens. There are nice restaurants and shops in walking distance to the hotel without the tourists crowd. The room was clean, comfortable and offered everything we needed for our 3 nights stay. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of tasty options. All the staff from reception, housekeeping and the restaurant were so polite, kind and professional and welcomed us with their beautiful Greek hospitality. We will recommend this hotel to our friends/family and we will definitely come back next time we are visiting Athens!

I stayed at the Coco MAT for only one evening and while there the hotel staff made it as comfortable as possible. The room was very well decorated. The concierge went above and beyond to help get to nearby sites before our departure. Conveniently located and great experience. I would definitely recommend.

There are 3 coco at hotels in Athens. The pictures on Google are misleading- the coconut Athens does not have a swimming pool. Also all our rooms where facing a back patio so we had to keep the curtains closed otherwise no privacy… fancy and good breakfast but served on the lower level - why not at the beautiful roof top????

A great option for staying in Athens. My only comment is related to the checkout - I booked 3 rooms for 4 nights, and when requesting to keep (only) one of the rooms for a late checkout in the afternoon, the only option I was offered was to keep a room for half price.

Perfect city centre oasis of calm.
I love the COCO-MAT chain of hotels, and have now made it my mission to stay in all of them! This one is in a great location in Kolonaki, surrounded by bars and restaurants with fantastic friendly staff, and a great city view from the roof terrace. The breakfasts are great, and the hotel is small and relaxed.

Great staff and breakfast, room ok
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, however, there were just a few things that let it down. The reception and breakfast staff were very pleasant. The breakfast is amazing, the range of choice and inclusion of traditional Greek food is brilliant. I had breakfast on the terrace one morning and that was lovely, although I found the hassle of carrying the tray put me off doing it again. The welcome bag of drinks was very much appreciated, but I didn’t understand where the honesty bar/room was to top up the fridge. The room is nice but could definitely be better. The tv and speaker in my room wasn’t working, and I did ask at reception if they could help me but no one came up to my room. There was a bit of a funky smell coming from the shower drain, but I just got on with it as my stay was short anyway. When I first used the shower, the shower door made an awful screechy sound, so beware! It’s fine once it’s been exposed to water from the shower. The bed was quite firm, and I would have liked a duvet rather than a sheet and light throw. The toiletries were lovely and covered everything you would need e.g toothbrush, razor, shower gel etc. The rooftop menu is very limited and overpriced for what they’re offering, but the view is nice. I found it disappointing to find no one at the bar on the rooftop in the evenings, perhaps they weren’t offering that during my stay. The terrace is also small. I would of liked a book in the room with key information as I had to ask reception for help.

The hotel and staff were great. Room was overall nice and no serious complaints. Our only complaint would be the location. Not for safety reasons, but wish we were a little closer to Plaka where we ended up spending a lot of time. We ended up walking easily over 10 mile days in athens to avoid over priced taxi fare.
