We had an amazing time! The water views, sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. The house was comfortable, abundantly supplied with everything you need and then some. Tech worked great, beds were comfortable and all appliances were Modern.

Fly infested. Water bugs everywhere. Someone cleaned the floor with furniture polish and I fell due to slipperiness. Chair rail was cover in dead flies and cobwebs in corners. Motion detection porch light did not ever come on

The property is as described and pictured I. The listing, quiet neighborhood (at least on the days we were there Sunday - Tuesday)… beautiful views, sunrise and sunset, everything needed to cook etc. cottage was clean but does need some repairs/attention … may not be the best choice for very young children. And although we were excited to catch crabs and fish from the dock, we were informed by locals that due to contamination in the water the fishing and crabbing has not been good there for a couple years. It is a perfectly quiet little getaway on the water tho!

Absolutely great stay - thanks for having us. The view couldn’t be beat, and we were treated to a BEAUTIFUL rainbow just over the river on our first night. It was comfortable, and clean. However, for suggestions - 1. Recommend a nonslip mat for outdoor shower2. Recommend offering more toiletries for guests… if I had forgotten any, the drive to dollar general is decently long!3. Recommend a baby gate to block off step for younger children (didn’t expect one, but it would have been an awesome add on)4. Recommend more towels for kitchen use! Overall, it was fantastic stay. The above things I mentioned would only add icing to a very special cake.

My family and I had a wonderful trip and rented this location to attend a family reunion near by. The house has amazing views and very quiet. Sunsets were spectacular. Pick up groceries on your way since the closest location is a Dollar General about 10 minutes away. Layout worked well for our family. The loft was very nice and we appreciated the non-slip grips on wooden stairs; although, loft ceiling is very low near top of stairs and I (5’11”) hit my head every single time (but that’s partly on me for not learning). The storm doors are incredibly out of square, with visible gaps that apparently let in insects . There were quite a few insects / cobwebs in the loft area ceiling due to the gaps, and our daughter didn’t want to sleep up there, but there was room in the bunk room. If you bring a dog, just be aware that neighbor dogs are off leash and like to visit, but everyone was very friendly. Overall, amazing location and exactly what we expected for a coastal home. Thanks!

Out of all the previous reviews of the property, the 3/5 is the most accurate. The location was beautiful. However, I do agree with the lack of cleanliness overall. There was dust/dirt on the baseboards, kitchen cabinets and floor. I had to wash anything in the kitchen before using it making it uncomfortable to prepare meals. Stairs to loft need grips and loft TV didn’t work. No laundry basket as indicated in check out instructions. All chairs on the deck were warped, rusted and could not be sat in. There was glass on the ground under the house, which we had to tell our kids to stay away from for safety concerns. Like I said, beautiful location but the property itself was not up to our family’s standards.

We enjoyed our stay at this quiet, peaceful, beautiful location. While Aurora is not a huge town, it offers enough to enjoy the home that is nestled in a spot for a calming rest away from the business of life. It sits in a spot where you can drive and take in many other activities such as the beaches to the south and north. Restaurants throughout the area, mostly in Washington, NC. We enjoy the option in routes to travel by ferry. You can take in many national parks, trails and wildlife refugees. If you're into fishing, there are many options to charter a tour and cast your line. The house was perfect for the four of us. Waking up every day to the view was blissful and brought serenity to the business of our daily lives. It is a place we would gladly rent again!

Had a great time with my husband, 4 children and dog. Cute place! Fantastic private pier from which we caught a number of blue crabs and spotted dolphins, flying fish, and other marine life. Visited the free Aurora Fossil Museum where we all dug and found fossils and marine life teeth and bones. (Diggers can keep anything found! The small museum also explains not just about fossils and teeth/bone, especially shark, but also about the area's phosphate mine from which the digging materials come.) It was quiet and peaceful. We had such a relaxing time, making many special memories at Trader John's - thank you!
