This lovely Victorian-style home is appointed with modern Swedish furnishings throughout. It is well-located in Hyde Park - close to small shops and with easy access to major roads - immaculately clean with all tile and wood flooring throughout, and very quiet (there are few sidewalks in the neighborhood). It was very comfortable for a family of essentially 4 adults, with a few points, below, to take note of for any future guests.
Being a refurbished-Victorian, it is light on electrical outlets throughout, so bring a power strip if you don't ditch the computers/cell-phones. The cooling system was barely able to keep up with the Texas summer heat. The owner prefers a no-shoes policy, which can be a little difficult on the slick floors, as one of us learned the hard way. Also, the tub is a step-up claw foot arrangement for showering, and the stairs to the large bedroom are steep. There are additionally several small steps in various locations in the home. People with mobility issues should rethink this location. Street parking is a breeze. The trees in the area are lovely and the neighbors are all friendly. The kitchen is a little light on dishes -- you basically have to wash after every meal or snack for four people. Overall we had a very nice stay and would be happy to do it again, but might plan our luggage a little differently and try to eat out more.
