Great weekend

We stayed for our Nephews wedding in Geneva, OH. It was perfect for all of and the pups. Very clean and comfortable, unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate , but we had a great time!

We have stayed at this property multiple times and recently were able to stay at one of the owner's other properties. Great location and good for friends' trip! Darlene and Bud are always communicative and available for questions!

Boys weekend

All of us grew up within 5 miles of the cottage, so it was great reminiscing and visiting our local “hangouts”. We had a great week, location was ideal!

Memorable

The House was very clean and the view of the the lake was outstanding!! The bedrooms were a nice size and beds comfortable! The jacuzzi tub was wonderful and the hot tub was really nice as well. I understand now why this property is always booked!! I will be looking to rebook hopefully next summer since there currently are no openings we highly recommend this rental property!!!

Excellent Vacation

My husband and I wanted a vacation rental that would serve the interests of us, our adult children and their spouses. This house checked off all the boxes! From obvious needs like house cleanliness, hot water, filter water and deck space, to beaches, hot tub, restaurants and local activities - it was wonderful. Thank you - we will be staying here again.

FHSU Wrestling Loved It

This place was perfect for our collegiate wrestling team while we were in town for th U23 National Championships! Nothing could be coming back to the views and the hot tub/cold lake contrast after a long day of competition! The proximity to good restaurants was a plus for us coaches as well! We highly recommend this location!

Very enjoyable stay by the lake!

We were very happy with the house. It is situated right on the lake and we enjoyed waking up and looking out at the lake everyday. The house we clean and just as described. The hot tub was a nice touch as well. Definitely recommend this for a stay!

Thanksgiving Fun!

We love staying here for Thanksgiving. It is a great getaway for our family as its just two hours away which allows some of us to come for the whole week and others for the long weekend. The well equipped kitchen makes holiday meal prep easy and the house is lovely any time of year. We look forward to spending more memory-making vacations in this great house.

Fabulous view and location!

This was my second stay at this property and found it greatly improved. There has been some interior updating, and the house was clean. The washer may be nearing its end and the outdoor grill needs a good cleaning, but overall we enjoyed this house and the gorgeous view. There is a good chance of a third vacation at this home. You will not be sorry you rented this house until you have to leave!

Fun for all ages

We are a retired couple who took our two daughters and their 4 kids total on vacation. One of our sons in law was there for an afternoon; the other for two nights. We seniors had the last two nights to ourselves. We LOVE the deck, listening to the waves, watching the sunsets. The kids LOVE being able to walk to the beach, playground and Karen's ice cream. We all LOVE hiking at Hogback Ridge and Hidden Valley

My 1st Madison vacation

Loved the house and location. Was very disappointed on the way to go down to the beach area. There was rebar sticking straight up in several places and on the last step it was a very big drop off.

Heaven!!

My family rented Lake Haven for a short vacation together. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and carefree. The house and deck were fully equipped.. all we had to do was show up! Rooms were clean and updated, property was more than we could have asked for.. and the view was breathtaking! Thank you for helping have a stress free four day worry-free vacation! I can’t wait to stay here again!

Beautiful house…beach not as pictured

The house was spacious and beautiful! The view was incredible, but it was not possible to enter the water from the steps as pictured without some athletic prowess and attention to avoiding dangerous rebar. The beach pictures were one of the primary reasons we chose the house, so this part was disappointing. Everything else was great!

Nice place on the lake

All in all a nice place to get away and enjoy lake views. Close to Geneva wineries. Hot tub was great. Did not expect to have to bring hand soap and toilet paper for bathrooms. Dishes and utensils had debris dried to them, suspect secondary to dishwasher being old. We enjoyed our stay but think some improvements could be made.

Family Christmas

Hot tub great for kids. Two TV spaces helped with kids. Layout of upstairs bedrooms good for three couples and 2 kids. Kitchen well equiped. Appreciated pet friendly. Walking to park, public beach, local eateries enjoyable even in Dec. Upstairs shower drain clogged. Remote for deck lights missing. Cleaning under beds needed. Fun to be right on Lake Erie. Safe, quiet neighborhood.

Great place to stay

There were 11 of us total that stayed and it was a great place for us near my grandparents house so we all could visit. My big complaints are the utensils were really clean in the drawers, a lot of them had food still on them so we had to wash them again which was a big deal. The biggest issue was the hot water. There was only enough for about 5 minutes total of hot water. So you had to hurry as fast as possible through a shower so the next person might be able to do the same. It made it hard to get everyone clean each day especially when ages ranged from 59 to 5 months old and everyone played outside. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

No Beach Access

This was a very nice house but could have been a little better cleaned. We were here with 4 couples so the beds were doubles so that was a little hard for sleeping. Knew that from the site so wasn't a surprise. The one bedroom connected to the other one with no door so if we weren't all family that could have been interesting. We are all siblings. The 2nd full bathroom being off the kitchen downstairs was interesting. Would suggest bringing mirrors because they are only in bathrooms. Hardly any hooks to hang towels and suits. There isn't a lot of room to put clothes away in some of the bedrooms so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. No closets in most rooms to hang anything. The photo of the house has not been updated so don't plan on walking down to the beach. Actually the steps are dangerous for kids to be around. There is a park with beach very close just would have been nice to be able to walk down the steps to a beach. We loved the view and having fires every night was great. The deck is beautiful. The house would be great for a large family. Neighbors who own their houses on both sides are very friendly. Very reasonably priced for what you get.

Lake Haven is THE BEST Lake Erie Vacation House!!

This is the second summer our family stayed at Bud and Darlene's Lake Haven vacation home. WE LOVE IT! It is the perfect home and location for all our summer vacation fun. The house is a short drive to the Geneva State Park Marina, where we can launch our boat for fishing and inner tubing. Its close to Geneva-on-the-Lake strip where the kids can play arcade games and shoot a round of miniature golf. It is also a short ride to shopping, dining, and the wineries. Most importantly, it is right on the water, where we can enjoy water activities all day long....floating on inner tubes, water football, or taking the kayaks into the lake. The beach access is easy and safe! This is a huge plus and just one of the many reasons we love Lake Haven. The house offers everything a family could need. The first floor offers a great kitchen with plenty of space when there are "too many cooks in the kitchen". The living room and dining tables are perfect for open seating and dining when its too hot outside. Of course, when possible, we spend most of the time on the roomy decks - love the decks and the ability to sit by the water and enjoy the lake. Upstairs, the five bedrooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The extra sitting room upstairs is perfect for an extra sleeping area. Bud and Darlene maintain the property very well and everything was clean and in working order - they are great hosts. Overall, this is our favorite vacation beach house and we plan to return for many years!
