"Our family was very happy with my choice this year for our annual reunion! The house was spacious with so many seating areas to choose from. The bedrooms each had their own bathrooms which is an unusual and appreciated perk in this area!. The walls are covered with an array of books and artwork … truly something for everyone! We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. It wasn’t lacking a thing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this house to anyone staying in the area."

"We had very nice time at this property on Orr's Island in Harpswell, Maine. The check-in process was extremely easy, and the house was very clean when we checked in. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck and looking at the view of the water, reading, and enjoying morning coffee. David was responsive to our questions, and even brought over brand new beach chairs which were in the property listing but not present at the house. This is a clean, comfortable home. Some of the Furnishings are a little dated, however, I think this is reflected in the rental rate for this home for the week."

"We had an amazing time at this house on Bailey Island! It was our first trip to Maine and we did not want to leave. The location is beautiful, there is a small public beach down a dirt street that my kids loved playing at and watching the massive tide shifts each day. We explored a large chunk of Maine the first day driving up to Bangor and all around the state on a Steven King self tour my wife put together (mostly pet cemetery locations). The house is really nice with views of the water from most rooms. We also loved the upstairs patio to look at the stars each night. My wife got some really great pictures of the Milky Way and videos of the meteor shower that happened to be going on while we were there. Top Tip, there are no real grocery stores on the island, BUT Walmart will deliver from 30 minutes away! We went hungry the first night because we got there and didn't come prepared with anything to eat expecting a store or restaurant would be open. Everything closes between 7 & 8 PM... Its worth getting a temporary Walmart account and just have food delivered if you don't already have one. Will return when we can and I hope this house is available when we do!"

From the deck, the ever-changing tides and Maine weather put on a constant show for the senses - there’s always something beautiful to watch.The space is also perfect for traveling with a dog. It’s a rare find to stay somewhere that genuinely makes your furry family members feel so welcome. I hope to return in the future!"

"The property is very nice. Unfortunately we were in town for a funeral and not a vacation. We needed a place to stay for 5 adults and this fit the bill. If we were to come on a vacation, I would definitely look up this property and give it another try. The house is very nice, new-ish, well appointed, and very clean.There are a few maintenance items that should be addressed. The door to the first floor bathroom does not latch shut. There is a small leak in the basement dripping near the washer. Not sure if it is a drain or tub leak from above. Couldn't figure out how to use the air fryer/toaster oven. it wasn't intuitive and there was no owner manual (as so much of the other appliances had). We did get to walk the beach. It was so nice and not too busy. Note that if you walk to the beach from the house, it would not be good for a senior with balance issues. Could easily twist an ankle or fall. Remember to not walk down the road by the house. It is someone's private road (as we were warned by the owner). The trail to the beach is along the property's black fencing. If you need to drive down as we did, the road is narrow and hard to find. Two way traffic is not easy so if you use something other than all-wheel drive you could get stuck.All in all, I would recommend this rental. We did not bring pets so cannot judge from that perspective, but I can say that you couldn't tell that pets were allowed (No smells or damage or dirtiness.)"

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: fantastic as always. My only suggestion (seems this is the forum) is that the grass needs to be mowed more than once. In the numerous times I've rented for 2 weeks, its hard to get it done (its a discussion point every year, once it never got mowed in the 2 weeks, and was long when I arrived). Seems for $5000 it ought to be a twice occurrence, even if the whole property isnt done, but around the Little house. (Maybe even just weed whacked). It gets buggy and old people trip on the longer grass. Otherwise AWESOME STAY!"
