Spring Getaway
We came for a long weekend to spend time with family. The home was nicely situated close to the marina and with good ocean views. It was great to have 2 golf carts at our disposal, as well as the beach chairs and towels. The kitchen was well equipped also. We were very happy with the home.

Great place
We loved this place - great location. Both showers are tiny and we all knocked the shampoo dispenser off the wall at some point. Otherwise, a perfect stay!

Great house for a weekend getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely and efficient home! The view from the deck and easy access to the beach made for a wonderful quick getaway. We really appreciated the layout of the home and the two golf carts!

Property is in need of attention. Kitchen has peeling paint on cabinets and both showers need a do over. TV had limited offerings. Smaller golf cart needs a new battery and I would NOT mention availability of bikes--as those at the unit we certainly NOT usable for adults!

This is a fairly updated home and we are surprised to hear of these issues as we touch base during your stay and after and did not hear of these concerns. The TVs are smart TVs giving you access to any type of app of your choosing. We have an after hours staff and would have been more than happy to come over and help with operating. The golf cart is on a monthly maintenance program and it has not had any issues and the golf cart company has not made us aware of any maintenance needs. We do not guarantee bikes with our homes as stated in our listing due to the difficulty of upkeep with purchasing parts on the island. We work hard in maintaining our homes and would have been more than happy to help with any concerns while you were here.

Great villa for vacay
Wonderful getaway to BHI staying at Doctor’s Orders. House was clean, cozy and had everything we needed plus more!! Ideal location by the golf course/ BHI Club with a great view of the ocean and the gorgeous Sunset. Owner was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Perfect location & features
Overall we love the Villas. It’s truly the perfect location near the BHIC, beach, marina. The housekeeping crew the day we arrived was short-handed and rushed. It wasn’t the best cleaning job but acceptable. The grill was dirty and rusted/not functional. Kitchen was great and beds were super comfy!

Wonderful Villa
We have stayed at BHI many times since 1992. This is at least the third time we stayed at one of the villas and this was by far the nicest. The unit is updated and very lovely. It has a lovely lower deck which is rare for the villas. Perfect for relaxing. Both golf carts are relatively new and full of pep, which is critical for enjoying your stay. We were very pleased with this unit,

Wonderful location right beside the BHI club which was where my kids spent most of their time. The house was clean and updated. My husband cooks a lot and he found that the house was supplied with almost everything he needed which was nice. No complaints, except for the giant bugs but I realize we are on an island and you can only do so much! Lol

Great View- however!
The VRBO fees were exorbitant. The dishwasher was broken and a week later, still waiting for parts. The A/C had to be repaired and the refrigerator water and ice maker turned off. House was beautifully decorated, but way too much furniture. Hard for family of five to sit down to eat.

This property was unfortunately a total disappointment.
1. The dishwasher never worked the entire time we were there. 2. The garbage disposal had to been serviced soon after arrival. 3. There isn’t one decent knife in the kitchen. Not one! 4. Food sticks to the pots and pans. 5. The 6-seat golf cart had to be serviced because of the loud noise it made and the brakes were not safe. When returned the roar was just as loud. 5. The beach chairs are terribly old and we had to purchase a chair because one was broken and unable to use. 6. The mattress in the bedroom furthest from the kitchen has a sunken place in the center. When comparing this VRBO to the many others we have vacationed in on BHI, we were totally dismayed and disappointed! I would also like to clarify that the price per night is also comparable to the other properties we have stayed. We chose this property because it had a rating of 5.0 and the positive reviews written, as well. We'll vaca again on this lovely paradise of BHI, but we will NEVER stay at Doctor's Orders, Villa 14 again.

We are very disappointed to see this review. We were very prompt in all repairs and as far as the dishwasher there was a part that needed ordering so we immediately brought over paper plates, plastic silverware, extra paper towels, dish soap for your use to limit washing dishes. Unfortunately with appliances, repairs can not always be done in one day. The golf cart was serviced and brought back within the same day as well. We also found 5 working beach chairs and we also refunded you for the one you purchased. We also personally checked the pots and pans and they are in working order. The owner is purchasing additional as well as knives. As you mentioned this house has a 5 star rating and we have never had complaints here.

Great Experience All Around
The property was clean and nicely updated! We loved there were two golf carts, one was newer and one was older. We also loved that there were a handful of bikes, we only had to rent one bike (to be able to have a baby seat), the ones provided all worked great and were different sizes. Also included was a pack n play, this makes traveling with infants so much easier. The property has great views and I loved being right next to a beach access (one of my favorite beach accesses that we explored). The beds were comfortable and there were lots of extra blankets. My only complaint (this is a bald head club issue, not a property specific issue) is that check in is at 4:00, and check out is 10:00. You have to plan the tram and ferry around these times so that your luggage isn’t stuck at the ferry drop off, or so you can get everything down to the ferry when leaving. To do this you have to take the 4:00 ferry for check in which means by the time you get there it’s closer to 5 (time wasted enjoying the island) and then for check out you need to plan to take the 9:30 ferry or get stuck paying fees for staying past 10:00, the tram arrives at 8:45-9, and before leaving you have to do quite a bit of tasks before checking out, so you either need to spend your last evening on the island packing and preparing or be sure to wake up at 6 am to get it all done in time. I just wish they would change the check in to 3:00 and the check out to 11:00 or offer an option where you can arrive to the island early on check in day to still explore at least prior to check in, and vice versa with check out. Again, this was a minor thing but would have made it less stressful I think.

Pictures and description were accurate. One block to beach and two blocks to Clubhouse! Plenty of living space. The rental unit included several bikes and two golf carts to allow one to explore the island. Views were great. Had a blast!

Great Spot!
We had a great time at Doctors Orders! Location, amenities etc! When we reported a cracked toilet seat in the master, the on-site maintenance crew came out to fix ASAP! My only recommendation would be some light updates/improvements and painting to freshen the property.

Review of Doctor's Orders - November 8-10 2019
This is a fabulous location and Villa. It's beautifully decorated while being very comfortable! Just a couple of suggestions to consider, before the next guests arrives. There is a palm tree growing next to the steps, going up to the porch, and it has completely taken over the steps. You can not pass without being hit in the face, so it would be great to cut some of the limbs. There needs to be a small hand rail on the right side of the stairs near the top especially since the palm has taken over the left side. The cart was a great part of our weekend as we explored the island and shops!! If the cleaning crew could clean / replace the plastic windshield it would help greatly. Also, the headlights need to be adjusted up to light up the road ahead, currently they only light two feet ahead of the cart and at night it's tricky. Other than that we would love to come back it's a perfect place to stay!! Thanks so much for your hospitality!

Villa #14 was great!
The comfortable, cozy villa with cheerful decor was clean and had all the kitchen amenities we needed. We loved staying here in #14! The views are beautiful and access to the beach was easy. We had fun exploring the island in the golf cart, learning the history and even climbing Old Baldy. The food at Delphina's was great as well as the Mojo's takeout we picked up. But most of all we loved the location and picturesque setting of Villa#14. Perfect!

Accommodations were perfect for our party of 6: 4 adults and 2 kids (tweens). Kids stayed up in the loft and adults in the two masters. Only con is that the loft is open to the downstairs so once kids went to bed we had to be quiet. Nice to have 2 golf carts (one 4 seat, one 6 seat) and 4 beach chairs. Location was great as we were super close to the Bald Head Island Club, and beach access. Ocean views from the home were a plus! Seems like new owners spruced some things up. I do wish that the home came with bicycles, would have been more of an issue if we had stayed longer than 3 nights...they are available to rent on the island though. Overall would stay there again!

Nothing charming about this property!
We came to the island to attend a wedding, so this wasn’t really a true vacation for us. You get what you pay for. The place is outdated and lacking some deep cleaning. The golf cart was probably the oldest one compared to ones we saw other people driving. It rained while we there and my husband had to pull the plastic sides out of the shed and it was absolutely filthy. To top it off, neither the refrigerator nor the ice machine were working. While we didn’t bring a lot for a weekend, that was all a mess. Two positives are the location and the view from the deck was very pretty. I will say that the property management did offer to relocate us on Saturday, however, we were there for a wedding so we did not have time for this. As a result they did refund us one nights stay. The refund did not include the cleaning costs which is comical since that was a huge complaint.

It was a perfect escape for my husband and me. This Villa has wonderful sunlight and great views. It is close to the beach and ferry. The owner, Brandy, was very responsive and helpful. It was a fantastic first visit to Bald Head Island.
