The cottage is newly renovated and has been done beautifully providing a cosy and comfortable place to stay in the fantastic surroundings of the Spey Valley. "We traveled with other family, so we had two rooms. Check in was very rough. Once we finally found the correct building and desk, the two people at check-in were quite rude. When we got to the rooms, one of the room was lovely, lots of nice amenities. The other room had no amenities (no shampoo, conditioner, robes, etc); it also had a broken shower. When the desk was called, no one answered. Breakfast was a similar situation; the first morning, they were out of pastries, sourdough bread, potatoes, etc. The second day everything was there, and breakfast was lovely. The kids enjoyed the pool, and we enjoyed some hiking in the Cairngorms. Our checkout was much better than checking in; the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Downtown Aviemore was quaint with shops, restaurants, and the train station. All were within walking distance. Overall, a very inconsistent, but average stay."

Scotlands Spa Hotel

"A beautiful old country house that has been a hotel for many years. It is used by coaches so can be very busy. It needs some TLC. The carpet is worn in places and the paint is chipped. I arrived too early for check in (1pm) so walked into the village. I stayed 2 nights. I had dinner the first night and it was good value for the price. The staff in the dining room were attentive and professional. It’s a 30 minute drive to Inverness but has lovely gardens and is very quiet."

Westlands of Pitlochry

"We had the best time at The Westlands and hope we can come back soon. The hotel location is excellent. There tons of things to do within a 3 to 5 minute walk. You even have the entrance to a trail right across the street, if you want to run or ride a bike. The staff is lovely and very helpful. Rooms have been beautifully renovated recently and are quite spacious."
