Impressive location
Poor experience. Welcome “here’s the key, your room is over there”.
Room in a separate building from the pub- large, popular establishment close to the Quay but 2 miles from town centre.
Room adequate and clean. Old fashioned, needs new decor and bathroom. Comfortable bed
Nice room in a good location. Bathroom is a bit old fashioned, but everything works, is clean and quiet. Also a really good price. I would come back.

Nice - But Room for Improvement
Crockets on the Quay is situated on the estuary of the River Moy just outside Ballina. It takes about thirty minutes to reach on foot from the town centre. The eight apartments are adjacent to the main premises but separate from it, so that guests are free to come and go without having to pass through the restaurant or lounge. I was in Ballina to run the River Moy Half-Marathon and Crockets is the ideal place to stay, being about 300 m from the start-finish line and registration.
When I arrived, I was shown to my room and given two keys: one for my room and one for the main door to the apartments. For the remainder of my short stay I was left to look after myself.
The room was satisfactory for a brief stay. There was a bathroom with a bath and an electric shower. The bedroom had twin beds, which were comfortable to sleep in. The linen was fresh and clean. There was a small television but no Internet access. The only window in my room was a skylight, which admitted plenty of light but had no blind.
Breakfast was not provided.
The restaurant was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a wide variety of dishes. The menu was well laid out. Allergens were clearly listed and there was a good selection of gluten-free dishes. The portions, however, were very big. My three-course dinner filled me like a Christmas dinner. My main course - Crockets 50/50 - had enough in it for two adults.
Check-out is 11-12, but I left early, leaving the keys in my room.
Crockets is right on the quay with a lovely view of the river. It is quite simple but crisply clean and very comfortable. True value for money. I loved to stroll along the river and then return to Crocket’s restaurant for a delicious lunch or dinner.
We booked this room, really not a 'Bed and Breakfast' because there was no service or breakfast, because of the mostly positive reviews on Hotels.com. We were very disappointed overall. I stopped at the bar to check in and the girl who led us to our room was very nice and answered questions whenever I went downstairs to get more information as there was nothing in the room to help us. The room itself was
poorly lit, the bathroom was in need of a good cleaning (the ceiling looked like it had
mold on it), and the mattress on the bed sank in towards the middle. The hallway
and steps leading up to the room were dirty as well. It was unfortunate. I don't like giving poor reviews, but our experience at this B&B did not live up to the ratings on hotels.com.

The nicest thing I could say about this hotel is that it had a nice view of the quay.
No record of booking. No breakfast offered, hotel does not open until 3pm. V friendly staff who gave us towels when we asked for them.
Got impression hotel doesn’t really do overnight guests.
Food OK. Friendly people in bar.
Great place to stay and eat, and incredible value.
When I first arrived in the car park, I thought oh dear what have I done, the car park is in bad shape and needs some TLC, but after that everything was brilliant. The staff were so friendly, really hard working, always had a smile of their face. I stayed for 3 nights and eat there 3 nights is a row, great menu, great food, I even stayed for lunch the day I left it was that good.
