I was disappointed with the property, staff is rude or maybe they just dont know how to speak english. The property has a funky smell in the hallway that can be associated with old buidlings.

Classic mid century modern hotel - great value
This hotel dates to the 1980s, and hasn't had major renovations since then, which might be a good thing depending on your perspective. I got a great deal, and for the money, it was a real treat. Nice big pool where you can do serious laps. Nicely appointed breakfast.

2 Rude receptionists for tens people waiting for check in i felt a bit racist reacting by them. check out at 5 am of big groups of tours, shouting and making noise in morning no body was warning them.not worthed money for this hotel.cockroach in room.many single men around and not comfortable area for women in swimming pool and other areas.never and ever go there again.

The staff (male) at the reception (not the cashier) was not co-operative. First of all, there is a weird practice of 1000THB to be deposited at time of check in. While checking out, there was a queue at cashier & hence requested the reception staff to cover for cashier, for which, the attendant was rude.

Bangkok Palace
The overall aesthetic of the hotel is pleasant. The pool is beautiful. The gym is well equipped. The hours are a little minimal, however. Both facilities close at 5:30 pm. The breakfast buffet offers Thai, Indian, and Western options. It’s above average. The housekeeping crew are excellent and if you need anything will be at your door within a minute or two!

Hardly a hotel, more like a motel
Entrance to the hotel is tricky.Very hard to be picked/dropped up by grab car.Long uncomfortable walk to the nearest shopping and eating area.Room was dusty and old.I had to clean it myself after the housekeeping leaves.Found dead cockroaches on the floor. Breakfast was yuck! Stale and basic.The only ‘meat’ was egg. The lobby was always crowded. I stayed a week and couldn’t change hotel cos I paid upfront.

The mandatory quarantine makes the stay very unpleasant . Pool, fitness center and business were all shut down. Staff was pleasant enough but the situation with quarantine was very difficult.

Ignore overly critical reviews. We had a lovely stay and are world travellers who accept the fact that nothing is perfect. The property is well located near amenities, public transit, good food and shopping but directly next to highway and very low end residences so the pool area is nice but very noisy. The lobby is impressive, ample staff (not the friendliest) very slow to check in and out because of additional rules required to manage such a large property. Infact they rigorously enforce their rules (no picture taking, can’t sit in lobby or cafe unless you’re a paying customer and proper attire in work out and pool area etc.). Details that could easily be improved with better management.

I book a room with a Queen size bed, but during check in they said they did not have one, and then said I should had confirmed my book, but Expedia itinerary said they I was book and did not need to confirm. Anyway after pushing for the large bed they found one, and told me they upgraded me to a larger king size. So that worked out. There are large groups of tours coming and going, which was weakness, but with a hotel that size it is expected.

Unfortunately the staff in the hotel are really unprofessional. They did as a favour to check as in earlier than the time and we appreciate that even if we had to compromise in the room type and go in a twin! But other than that nothing positive

Too many cockroaches. Cockroaches everywhere throughout the hotel. Cockroaches in the room, cockroaches at the restaurant and everywhere. Only the lobby looks fancy but the rooms are very old and need repairs. It looks like a 3 or 2 star motel.

Some of the previous reviews on this hotel have not been so good , in general I was quiet happy. Clean and well presented also staff where a as helpful as they could be in the reception and the rooms where ample.. Location a little hard to find but close enough to the local nightlife in a short taxi or Took Took ride. A good budget option with a nice outdoor pool and a gym available 👍Focus a little to much on large groups maybe....

Just bad. Never again.
Booked a room for two pax. End up told me I have to pay extra (for the second pax) upon check-in. Told by the two service staff at the counter and one manager, Ms. Penn that my room was for one pax only. After a few email exchange, Ms. Penn insisted that's the hotel policy. When booking, it was clearly stated, one room for a maximum of two pax. Also, toilet wasn't working (flooded even when there's nothing in the bowl), requested to change room. However, service was slow and had to call the reception 3 times. All in all, it was really a bad experience for me considering this is the first ever time I wrote a negative review after traveling extensively for more ten years. In the end, we didn't stay for the entire duration that we booked (paid for). Upon check out, one of the hotel staff was puzzled as to why we were checking out earlier. After we told her what happened (not the previous 3 above mentioned staff), she told us that actually we can stay on - and that no money is required for the 2nd pax. By then we were already very pissed and rather spend our money elsewhere than to receive such treatment (make it so hard for us to check in to begin with). Just bad. Never again.

I also remembered very well that my answer was : 1) If you can provide us 2nd guest person Name. 2) She/He must check in at the same time with you with passport OR I.D. due to we have to report the immigration daily and this is the rule. 3) Without the above 2, Hotel will have to charge THB 1,000.- PER TIME Sorry but nothing much we can do. Welcome to the Cockroach Palace Hotel where you will enter a dystopian world of loudspeaker announcements and posters of rules and regulations. Where the staff dare not smile for fear of being carried away to room 101 by the curious men aplenty dressed in black suits, who patrol the hotel like Dobermans gaurding some mafioso penthouse. You are in a different world now. Forget about the freedoms you enjoyed before you entered through the glass doors. Don't be fooled by the grandeur of the lobby with its cascading crystal chandeliers and polished wooden panels. You entered those doors of your own free will. No one forced you. You are here by choice. What you have entered is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone. We arrived back in Bangkok very early that day and reached the Cockroach Palace Hotel at about 6am. We had booked for three nights after seeing the hotel on Hotels.com promising a warm welcome, luxuriant rooms, the promise of a varied and tasty breakfast and a large outdoor pool, exactly what we needed after three weeks travelling around South East Asia. On arrival we were offered early check in for about £50 which we turned down and decided to wait until later. First time and never will i return..first no king size bed after calling and requesting as was my belated birthday fine stayed in the rm with two beds moved together.Bed bugges bit us the whole ng.small roaches in the toilet told reception apoloise and thats it didnt bother to go further.Next morning 9am the hk rings the bell to clean the rm told come after 3pm.At 10am another call comes and at 11am another call i asked them i already informed after 3pm.Asked me if i was an indian.Is this what u teach your staff he laughed and hang up.The worst bar i had had mosquitoo bit us..ghosh just wonder hw this hotel is still surviving..The only people who i can say were friendly concierge and rm attendant rattapol thumps up to him great staff..Is a disappointment when you also work in the hotel line to see this kind of service

Hotel self identifies as luxury .......
Staff are so rude and room was dirty, don’t be fooled by the concierge or lobby! 30 min check in and 20 min check out whilst they check if you have been drinking any of the minibar before you get a 2000 baht CASH deposit back. Spend a bit more and have the real experience. These lot are a sham :-)

Hotel should’ve opened the back door gate for ppl who likes to hang out at night. Not saying open all the time but may be till midnight. We had to walk around the hotel to go in through the front gate at 10pm.

The worst ever hotel i stayed. 1- Photos in sites are the same but doesnot match in reality. I am quite sure you will be very disappointed when u see the Hotel in real. 2- Rooms are dirty. Very dirty. I asked twice to clean properly. Very dirty room. 3- Everyday u will see cockroach in the room. 4- This hotel is for groups from India only. 5- Breakfast is ok. Everyday the same food. No Thai touch. After 2 days, I guarantee you will get bored. 6- On the walls inside the Hotel you will see "if you do this Hotel will FINE you, if you do that Hotel will FINE you". I didnot feel that i was staying in the Hotel. 7- For the first time in my life I saw king bed on wheels. You sit- noisy, stand- noisy, move- noise. What a bad sleep I had. Never gonna forget this hotel. :( 8- The worst were - Staff of the Hotel, including a female manager who did check in for us. What a rude attitude she showed. I am so disappointed.
