「Just okay and nothing more. Staff are pleasant but restaurant service is below par and the rooms are looking dated. 」

「Booked because of the spa, such a disappointment. Tiles missing out of the steam room, only noticed as it wasn’t working, not one shower in the spa area working, had to go into changing rooms to shower down after sauna etc. water fountain not working. Changing rooms not much better, locker had key code locking, difficult to find one that actually worked, hair drier not working either. Such a shame it’s being run down as could be stunning.」

「Two members of the Portal team consistently impress with friendly courteous welcoming conversation on arrival/departure from Joe. Equalled by welcoming open service from Olga managing breakfast. 」

「Hotel and rooms need a lot of TLC, water takes a while to heat up and when it does the pressure in the shower is awful. Pool wasnt bad but there were no spa appointments avaliable depsite having a membership. And the junior suite dosent look like the photos. Ended up makkng a complaint andnit was rectified but still not happy with my stay. Wasnt worth the money I paid. 」

「Staff were very nice but the arrival registration at 3pm was very slow due to large line of customers. Room very nice, upgrade but looking out onto a wall and air conditioner yard. Not very happy with that. Website showed gardens. Also lighting very dull.」

「Very basic & not in any way pleasant. A tired looking room. Decor in need of refurbishment, paint chipped & scuffed skirting boards. A small room with window attracting condensation. It was very oppressive. We wouldn't wish to stay with same hotel chain again. The hot tap didn't dispense any water as seized up so no bath only shower. Disappointed. 」
