Because of road damage be advised roads are rough and may require 4wd in snow times. Read owners directions . Once there you will not be disappointed!

These were wonderful accommodations! Very well equipped and comfortable. However. A strong suggestion to drive an SUV to access this home. The road is very rough in places and if weather conditions are bad it would be treacherous.

This is our second year at Outlook at Valle Crucis. it is our home away from home. it is a beautiful cabin, very well stocked, and tastefully decorated. The view is spectacular. we will never stay anywhere else when visiting the NC Highlands. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time in Banner Elk at this beautiful property. The views were incredible. The location of the home is down a long gravel road with some turns and twists so just prepare yourself and you will be perfectly fine.

This house was beautiful and had a lot of nice features. We definitely enjoyed the well stocked kitchen. The fireplace outdoors was a nice addition however, we were told by the property mgr that we had to pay for a min of 5 days of wood, at a premium price, in order to use it. It turns out, that the owners provide wood for half the price on the honor system, for each time we used it, but we weren't informed of this. It would have been nice as we couldn't use the fireplace each night. The pictures show a hammock on the deck but there wasn't one and I was looking forward to lying in it all week. We all agreed that more chairs on the deck would be nice, as the high ones that go with the high top table aren't comfortable for long periods of time to enjoy the view. We certainly enjoyed the many blankets for being couch potatoes to watch the large tv. And they aren't kidding when they warn you of the steep roads to get there! Even with all these things, we had a lovely time and highly recommend it.

Our family had such an incredible stay at the Valle Crucis Overlook. This is a stunning cabin, with inspiring natural wood craftsmanship that had our whole family marveling at the aesthetics and the feel. Coupled with the outdoor fireplace and the scenic views (which we enjoyed with a snowfall), we could not have asked for a more memorable experience. This is a cabin that inspires long discussions by the fire and shared meals that last hours. Could not be happier with this property and overall experience.

We’re from Florida, and since our kids have never seen falling snow before, we were hoping to see some, and boy did we get to experience a true “winter wonderland” in the most beautiful, comfortable, fully-supplied (with modern, top-notch amenities) cabin ever! The view (both snowless and leafless trees, as well as the magical snowy panorama) leaves you breathless and renewed, the location is just right - not too far from the bigger towns (Boone, Banner Elk) and not too close to neighbors, so serene and beautifully landscaped. Inside, the inviting soaring fireplace keeps you cozy and together with the family. Kids loved the bunk beds and took over the 2nd FL with the lovely nook. We loved every moment there! Close to ski slopes too (30-45min away), and the street in front was perfect for an impromptu sledding! Even in blizzard weather, we just wanted to stay there forever! Can’t wait to see the place during the summer months!

Very nice house up in the mountains with amazing views. It is a 12 minute or so drive up the mountain off the main road. Everything was clean and as pictured. Lots of restaurants within 20 - minutes too. Will definitely look to come back.

We had a great time staying at Valle Crucis Overlook. The interior is very cozy, and the view from the back deck is a treat. Be sure to check what time sunrise happens and wake up at least once for it, since the views face roughly east. The grill was as clean as any I've seen at a rental, and everything in the kitchen was in working order. I also appreciate the linens, dish towels, fresh sponge and dish soap. They also provide nice bath soap and shampoo ,which is a nice touch not all rentals provide. And the checkout steps were more reasonable than some rentals, especially with regard to the linens and the trash. Overall, I'd recommend it!

We had a nice time here. The view is exactly as described! Beautiful! The cabin is nice and clean and updated. We cooked here multiple times. The only thing I would recommend if you have little ones is to bring a baby gate as there were none on the property. We bought some from Walmart and returned them. My kids loved the bunk bed upstairs and we all loved hanging out in the living room:kitchen area as a family. Owner is extremely responsive as well.

Our family enjoyed our weekend stay at Valle Crucis Overlook. Great views off the back deck and an awesome fireplace in the front yard. House is well kept. The kitchen contains all the utensils you need, just bring your groceries. Gas grill on the back deck. Smart TVs to use your TV apps for entertainment. Gas logs in the living room are nice and heat quickly. Be sure to get what you need before going up the mountain to the cabin. It's a ways back and forth for groceries or necessities. Recommend 4-wheel drive as some of the access road is not paved and is on a steep grade. Would make for difficult travel in bad weather. We enjoyed the privacy, off the beaten path. Would recommend and would stay again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was the first time my family and I had visited Banner Elk/Boone. The cabin was clean and cozy. The outdoor fire pit was so relaxing. We enjoyed the beautiful views and waking up to snow. We will definitely be back!!
