Better not...

Spent 5 days at Astera Hotel in January 2019, as an alternative to another hotel nearby, where we could not find available rooms in that period. The good: SPA and indoor swimming pools, large room, fairly clean, close to the ski station (still, not easy to walk with the ski equipment on), but they run a shuttle bus for that The bad: outdated rooms (need to be refurbished), restaurant ambience and food, cold food is regular (almost everything was served cold: breakfast eggs, dinner plates, etc.), poor quality breakfast (very cheap food), always leaving with a strong food smell impregnated in our clothes, overall feel of dirtiness (glasses, table cloths, etc.). As a personal conclusion, the hotel has good potential due to its location and facilities (the SPA and room size), but it requires urgent refurbishment and improvement of management, especially for the restaurant.

Not what I expected.

The room we were given was in the annex and was not like the one I had seen in the photos. It was also in another building which was just 10 meters away but that meant you needed to get outside in 0 or -2 degrees. As a result, we didn't go to the spa because it wasn't convenient or advisable to move around in bathrobes at such temperatures. Dinner was also just acceptable, so we had it only once. Breakfast could definitely be better, as well. If I had known these, I would have booked another much better hotel which was also cheaper, as this turned out to be overpriced. The check in was also disappointing. Instead of being welcomed with a smile, it took them quite some time to find our reservation, which had been paid for and confirmed by the hotel itself, and the receptionist was on the point of being rude. A real pity because the location was very good. All in all, the rooms in the annex should have been a different category in the booking form as are other rooms , e.g. Superior, standard, suites etc.
