We found this house suited our needs perfectly, mostly a comfortable place to gather in the mornings and evenings after being out and about all day. It is in a quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from downtown Bar Harbor, making it very convenient to NOT have to park in town for restaurants, sightseeing, etc. The four bedrooms and two bathrooms worked great for our situation - two different families - and that was a plus. Plenty of space in the kitchen, dining area, and two sitting rooms. It was too warm -- yes, too warm in Maine! -- to use the porch, but it wasn`t too well furnished anyway. The back patio is functional, but was too warm to use while we were there, and the gas grill was a nice touch as we used it for some grilling one evening. The 4 a/c window units and 2 fans kept the air cool throughout the home. Parking could have fit 3 cars, our two big ones fit well. A few suggestions we`ve made to the hosts, who were great, were ... provide an ironing board to go along with the iron, install a disposal in the kitchen sink, and secure the front porch better. The porch windows could slide open easily, a good thing, but there wasn`t a way (we didn`t find one) to lock them. And it is only the outside porch door that locks when you leave, not the inside door, so too easy for someone to get past the porch windows and into the house while you`re away. Luckily Bar Harbor is a quiet town for the most part, and we had no problems, always back in the house with both doors locked during the evening.
