Four Oaks Barbour's Grove Park Hotels

"Shower was broken. Didn’t work. Left two messages for manager to call. We really should get a credit of sorts. Still no call. Was ice cold unless you held up. Reported to desk who said since third party that we needed to tell manager. Makes me think twice about booking through Expedia and also realizing management terrible at this hotel. We drove 8 hours and couldn’t take a nice shower "

"Positives: -Beautiful decor in lobby. -Clean room. -Good AC/heat temperature control in room. Negatives: -Problem with shower temperature control (only scalding hot or no water at all - seemed to be no cold water available). -Lackluster pool and gym. -Lackluster breakfast, really not worth it. "

"I lived in the south for 25 years and I’ve been up in Ohio and Michigan for the six years. I stated this hotel and it’s been pretty consistent with good people amenities. But I want to say the choice hotels and Comfort Inn need to open the pool earlier than Memorial Day. The reason is as of April 1 it starts getting hot in North Carolina. I lived there for 25 years and it’s always questionable between the months of March and April. I understand not opening the pool up north any earlier with your hotels. But in North Carolina and South Carolina I would ask that you would consider opening a pool April 1. Even if you don’t think it’s that warm even at 70° kids want to swim. It’s a hell of a lot warmer than the ocean in Wilmington, which I came back from to stay at this hotel. I understand that’s the official summertime. But please consider opening the polls or earlier in the south."

"Clean rooms and comfy beds."

"My room was plenty spacious and exceptionally clean. I was able to check in early and check out later. The area was way more walkable than I required. It felt safe and was well lit with active foot traffic. I explored little but felt like I could have done more, just not the purpose of my trip. Did I mention how clean it was with no overt chemical smells and someone in housekeeping that sang while they worked must care about the work they do. Well done."

"I didn't have a pet, but saw many, so I guess it is accommodating of pets."
