This is a great hotel and we loved the area. The staff were helpful and friendly. The surrounding area is very vibrant and fun. The bar across the street was a little noisy at night but not a big problem for us. We read reviews about noise from construction but we did not hear any such noise. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was delicious.

There no air conditioning and we were so very hot in our room, we could not breath. We opened the windows for air and it was very loud with construction during the day and night club during the night until 3:0@am! We would never stay there again for those reasons.

An excellent hotel and location with a boutique style and fantastic rooms. The breakfast includes Cava, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries and breads, scrambled egg, smoked salmon and bacon (amongst other things). You can have eggs, porridge and bacon made to order (if you can flag down a server). The 'minibar' included in the room is more mini fridge, as it only includes soft drinks, crisps and a toblerone. An excellent inclusion but certainly not a bar. The air-conditioning is limited by local law, with the room maintaining a warm temperature unless a window is opened - However the trams running limit this use to sleeping hours without interruption. The hotel did provide a fan to help. The front desk staff were all very friendly and always quickly resolved any request. We had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location and the rooms were spacious and so clean. We enjoyed our stay and they were so kind at the front desk. They helped with bags and gave us a room early, which was so nice. We would stay again.

Beautiful hotel in Basel
This was an amazing hotel. Although an old building, it has been thoroughly modernized. The room was very spacious, the king bed was super comfortable and even the pillows were good. A nice perk is the sauna and steam room available at no extra cost. The attached hotel restaurant was good - we had a nice lunch there. Be forewarned that Switzerland is expensive and restaurant dining and taxis may be way more than expected. Luckily, the hotel is situated in a shopping district where a supermarket, open markets, takeaway and bakeries are readily available for more cost-effective dining options. Highly recommeneded

Beautiful property, excellent location, fantastic staff. The only negative was that we arrived one day late due to a train strike. Advised the hotel 22 hours prior to scheduled arrival but beyond the window for cancellation and the hotel refused to give a refund. Well within their rights but some recognition of the circumstances would have been appreciated

I had room 210 which was outstanding in decor and a tiny balcony. BUT it over looks the front of the hotel where the trams are running, constantly. I would advise rooms that didn’t face this direction for a good nights sleep. Hotel and staff are wonderful simply professional and very helpful. Terrace at the top of the hotel has lovely views of the surrounding area. I would definitely return here! Happily!

Great location, directly beside the main bus stop. The hotel also gives you a bus pass that you can use for the train station. There is a market a block away from the hotel.

The hotel and rooms are amazing, very spacious and luxurious. Unfortunately the city around the hotel is dirty, chaotic, and has construction works on every street and street corner. Basel might be a nice city, but it definitely wasn't obvious from this visit.
