Good place to stay
One night in Basel and near the station. Surprised at level of facilities (much better than expected), included breakfast and lack of noise.

I had a lovely private room with bath, I used the kitchen at the YMCA hostel next door. They also stored by bags for me on the day of leaving so could walk around without them. The staff at YMCA were very helpful and there is a small shop/restaurant for snacks and drinks. Totally recommend!

Chic and Modern
Situated right behind the Train Station, the location is perfect for travelling around Basel. The free teas and coffees were a welcome surprise as there was an hour delay in check in before the room was ready. Only quibble was the puzzling rule about not having alcohol in your room, quite bizarre really.

One night stay for a champions league game 5 minutes from the back of train station , checkin at 3pm because room was not ready but facilities are good and so is the price for Basel

Location
The YMCA was very near to supermarket around the conner and two blocks to railroad station. Also, you could walk to the major tourist sites.

I was very pleasantly surprised at my room! Spacious, comfortable and there was a Nespresso! It was also quiet and the area appeared quite safe. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Handy for the train station, handy for trams
Pleasant all round. Excellent room for resting and sleeping - but requiring shift into YMCA social area (I was in Stay@SBB) for work, planning and coffee etc. Nice little garden, though the little low tables should be wiped clean every few hours instead of never; not keen on unemptied ashtrays, either. Wonderful to have free coffee on tap. Easy atmosphere, everyone doing their own thing, though watch out for certain groups who might colonise the kitchen - should be more rules there. Great location for the train station, which itself has some good shopping facilities - late-hours CoOp not least of all - and therefore trams that go to most city spots. Good value. Free travel pass - for my three days - much appreciated.

Nice Stay!
VERY clean hotel with friendly staff. Comfortable beds and they give you a comfy robe/slippers to wear in the hotel. Close 6 min walk from the train station.

Clean modern hotel in central Basel
Had a really good time at the hotel, it is very modern and clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the room I got wasn't as big as the one I thought I had booked, or that was showing on my booking confirmation email, not sure if you they use a generic picture?! The room though was very clean and modern, had wifi, but no TV. There is a communal area where you can cook something if you want, an area to eat and relax, as well as a pool table. You can buy breakfast and it's reasonably priced and very nice!

Clean quiet and spacious minimalism
It is bare bones - without fancy extras - but within that context it is excellent. The showers are big and work well. The rooms are large, quiet and meticulously clean. The reception is open 24 hours a day and both receptionists were friendly and efficient.

Friendly and welcoming
What a lovely hostel! Everyone at reception was super helpful and welcoming. The room was comfortable, bathrooms spotless, quiet hall, friendliness abounds. Two minute walk from the main train station, free tram passes made it so easy to explore the town! I highly recommend this property. Excellent!

Convenient hotel with easy access to services
The Stay @ SBB is the upscale side of the YMCA hostel. The staff are great and work hard to fulfill your needs. There is ready access to a kitchen and the nearby COOP store is great for acquiring food to prepare meals. You have access to juice and bread with coffee/tea at breakfast, but you do have to compete with the people at the hostel as there is no longer a breakfast basket provided. In the room, the bed was comfortable and the walk-in shower was great. The only issue I had was regulating the room temperature. Arriving after a very hot day, the room was stuffy and the only respite is a small fan that you can force into a narrow window opening. Though there is something on the wall that looks like you can regulate the temperature it does not.

The lowest price we were able to find - and we were glad we stayed there. Very clean hostel, staff is very professional and friendly, complimentary basic breakfast, overall - good value for the money.The greatest bonus - free pass for public transportation.

Great hostel at a great price.
Very pleasant young man greeted us , very helpful with advice about good food restaurant just a few minutes walk away.just what we required for. Very clean and tidy, helpful staff. Free snack breakfast was very helpful. We are returning for a couple of nights on our return journey. For the price it was fabulous.

This is the YMCA
A fine crash pad, but not a hotel. Check-in is at the YMCA. If you're in for the hostel experience, this isn't a bad choice. Located 5 min walk from Basel SBB.

Great value for basel. Only cost £40 for one night and room was a good size with sink and fast wifi. The shared facilities were spotlessly clean. Short walk to basel sbb so good for transport, food, etc. Cant fault it.

this is not a hotel - it's a youth hostel - there are no facilities such as food, coffee , toiletries etc and there is nothing nearby too.

Waren eine Nacht im Hotel. Wir hatten Probleme beim "self-checkin", aber uns wurde sofort weiter geholfen. Sehr gut gelegen, nur ca 4-5 Min zum Bahnhof. Schönes 3er Zimmer und sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück konnten wir leider nicht geniessen da unser Zug früh fuhr. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Vielen Dank für alles.
