Xi'an Beilin Museum Hotels

"The first thing to say is that this wasn't the easiest place to find, partly because there is very little English signage (not that I'm complaining about Xi'an having mainly Chinese speakers and signage, but worth remembering!) and the fact that certain websites are blocked. I couldn't access my emails to get more detail about the hotel and Google is blocked. Make sure you get an e-sim - invaluable. To find the hotel, get the airport bus/metro to the Xi'an landmark The Bell Hotel. Go to the left of the hotel (as you are facing it) and after about 100 metres, after a 7-11, a bakery and finally a watch shop, you should see a small entrance to the hotel - once you know, it's deceptively simple. The hotel itself was excellent - clean and welcoming with a great breakfast (never had so many noodles for breakfast). Once again, certain sites are blocked and the TV was impossible to decipher, but not the end of the world. I communicated with the staff through the translating apps and every one of them was very helpful - our transfer to the airport on the way back was very cheap and every one of the staff involved themself in helping. The manageress was especially kind here. Xi'an is a wonderful city - very impressed with how well I ate for so little - and the people are curious but never rude and I will definitely go back. Probably my favourite Chinese city now. And I'll be staying at this hotel again (if they'll have me)."

"The room was clean and spacious and the staff were attentive. The hotel is located right in the centre of Xi'an close to many of the major sites (the Muslim quarter and the Bell and Drum towers). It's also next to a subway station although taking didis everywhere is pretty cheap. Overall I would definitely stay there again!"

"This hotel is in an ideal location, in the city walls of Xi’an with plenty of food options nearby. Be aware there is another location also listed as ‘Eastern House’ but this is the correct place. Breakfast was not bad, a mixed selection with pastries, bread for toast and cereals as a Western option. Afternoon tea was an interesting mix of cakes, definitely worth trying and the tea was tasty. Overall great value for money, the reception staff who I engaged with spoke some English and were friendly. Highly recommend over some of the more familiar American chained brands."
