Check in and out was easy. The room was spacious and I felt spoiled. The exterior carving on the hotel and landscaping is beautiful. AC worked great. There are mosquitos on the island but the room had lots of anti-mosquito measures such as electric bug zapper, citronella coil, mosquito netting around the beds. I forgot to check outlet needs before travel and so I very much appreciated the power adaptors in the room! Easy to get to from the ferry. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Bequia is so lovely I didn’t want to leave.

I enjoyed the property quite a bit, it is located midway on the Belmont, and is close to restaurants. The property it self is very beautiful with all of its original woodwork well maintained. The rooms have everything you need with a kitchen great for breakfast and lunch. The balcony’s are large and provide a nice semi private place to relax outdoors. If you need to watch TV, bring your laptop, as the rooms don’t have them. It’s located approximately a10 minute walk from the ferry. Only one small rough area about midway, just before the walkway starts, so it’s walkable with a wheeled carry on, if you have more luggage, I recommend a cab, not more than $30 EC/$12USD approx. Bequia is a water enthusiasts dream, for landlubbers bring a good book and relax.

Perfect little find

Location was perfect. Room was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Gingerbread Suites are lovely but the adjacent Gingerbread hotel looks very neglected.

The stay at gingerbread was overall excellent. The villa is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and stunning, the location is perfect. The host was pretty responsive at first since our flight was delayed and we missed our ferry — and had to come a day later but once we got there I did not hear from the host again even when I messaged him to ask about activities on the island or with the hotel. He also failed to mention the deadly trees/fruit, manchineel. Apparently all hotels are supposed to let the guests know but we had never heard of it. Yes, we were stupid and ate the fruit not knowing what it was… but when we started feeling light symptoms and asked a local, then went to the hospital, they were shocked that the hotel did not let us know about these trees. All and all, writing this to warn folks about these trees!! And don’t eat fruit off the ground, kids.

I had a great stay at Gingerbread. The building felt authentic and quaint, the room was great and the location perfect. I was able to walk to everything around it. I'm already planning my next stay.

I enjoyed the calm and quiet atmosphere. The staff were lovely and helpful. While no food options were on property you are surrounded with a variety of options. Easy access to the beach and if you are interested in diving, snorkelling or other water activities there are many options available.

I completely fell in love with the room which was a double edge sword since you can see the beautiful Caribbean water from bed. I got take out to enjoy the amazing room set up. They think of everything and I’m enamored with the decor and mosquito net bedding; super quaint and romantic. Super quiet at night and everything is walking distance. The owner was one of our favorite parts we will be back in a few months and will bring more family. LOVED it.

It is beautiful place. Very nice bedroom, clean, like a small apartment for a couple and also a kid. It is a very place bc it is convenient bc it is close to everything. In front of the bay, close the restaurants, to markets, walkable from the Ferry maybe 10 minute's or less. If you want to dive there are two shops besides Gingerbread. Beach around.

Lovely apartment just like the pictures. Clean and well looked after. Owner was friendly and helpful. Nice places to eat close by for breakfast or dinner. The front office could have been better manned as sometimes no one to talk to. Overall would definitely recommend these apartments to stay on this lovely island.

Die Gingerbread Suites liegen genial: direct am Belmont Boardwalk, mit Blick auf die Admiralty Bay. Nach 500m ist man auf der einen Seite direkt in Port Elizabeth, auf der anderen Seite auf dem Weg Richtung Princess Margaret Beach. Recht großes Zimmer, grosses Bett mit guter Matratze, viele Unterbringungsmöglichkeiten. Bad individuell gestaltet. Eigene Küche mit allem was man braucht. Alles schon ein paar Jahre alt, aber gut gepflegt. Sehr schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf den Hafen. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen, insbesondere das Frühstück auf der Terrasse.

Owner—Hassam makes sure you get everything you need/want. Incredible service from all staff. I am a solo 71 year old traveller who’s felt very safe and cared for. About 200-300 feet from sea walk. Can hear waves. See Admiralty Bay, boats. A few minutes along seawall to town. Lea from Canada.

Rummen är generösa med utrymme. Sviterna i markplan är mörka och bemängda med myggor. Utan ac för man en ojämn kamp även med bekämpningsmedel och myggnät. Boka om möjligt sviterna en våning upp. Ljusa och luftiga. Strålande läge alldeles vid strandpromenaden. Ingen pool men strand ca 300 m bort.

A beautiful, elegant building in an Ideal location, a few minutes along the boardwalk to town and walking distance to Princess Margaret Beach and Lower Beach. Spacious room, fully equipped kitchen and large bathroom. Beautiful view across the harbour from the large, well furnished balcony. The downside was the heat on the balcony - it does not catch a breeze and it was sometimes too hot to sit outside. A portable fan there would help. (The room has air con but not much view) Also there were some mosquitoes, and ants came into the kitchen if any crumbs were left on the counter.
