Big Sur Romantic Hotel

"1. Needs better signage. Myself and 6 others attempted to register at the Conference Center, believing it to be the lobby. 2. The room’s thermostat is so complicated that guests are directed to scan a QR for instructions, and watch a video to learn how to turn on the HVAC system. WHY have a thermostat that is NOT user friendly?"

"Location and view was great! Hotel is run down. If you get 2 beds there is no ocean view. "

"The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is in good shape. The room was clean with a coffee maker and cable TV. The location is great. I would stay there again if I am back in the area. "

"The room was ok acceptable for the price range. It was so refreshing unplugging from the internet. We have a 5 year old daughter and initially we were not excited about it but hey it worked! More family time, being outdoors! The brochure said there will be at least one board game in the room but ours didn’t have one and when we asked the front desk they offered us the puzzle. I suggest having more younger kid friendly board games available too! The coffee shop was good but I felt like at the times I went it was busy so they were running around. The gift shop lady who helped us was not friendly at all. Not sure if it was because we were there early or what, she didn’t engaged on any conversation, no human connection. The front desks staff were all helpful. Overall, we loved Big Sur Lodge and we will definitely go back especially when the pool is open since its so cold to even walk by the river! "
