Named in honor of Sultan Ibraimov (1927-1980) - chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He was killed by two headshots in his own bed in the government residence on Issyk-Kul.
“Being in high government posts, Ibraimov proved himself to be a man of high working capacity, activity and wide erudition. Now books are being published about him, memories are being published, a tribute is paid to this extraordinary person, a talented statesman, ”said the Chairman of the Council of Ministers on the website of the National Library.
On Ibraimova Street are located: one of the oldest parts of Bishkek - the Forge Fortress, the State Penitentiary Service (GSIN), the Dordoi Plaza shopping center, the Bishkek city court and the Comfort shopping center. It starts from Kulatov Street and ends in the area of the Blacksmith Fortress.
