Although it is a little bumpy ride going 10-15 mph, it is completely safe and acceptable for 2 wheel drive vehicles except in snow/ice conditions then 4 wheel drive is required for winter months. It sure beats driving in the city and leads to nature’s paradise!

Hi William, We hoped you enjoyed your stay and had safe travels home! We do have internet in the cabin with HughesNet; however, in the wooded mountain areas the internet service available to us is not as fast as those we typically find in the cities. However, Spectrum just installed internet cables in our neighborhood so now that it is available we are signing up for faster speed internet. There are locations in downtown Black Mountain that provide free internet as well. We also have a faster verizon mobile hotspot that you may request from property manager to use if available.

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our cabins! We are glad you had no issues with the road in your AWD. 2WD cars are completely acceptable as well with no issues except in snow/ice conditions (in winter months we do require 4WD). For our internet, we do have a Verizon hotspot upon request if you need to work in the cabin. Faster internet is coming to our area soon! They already laid the cables and we look forward to it. Wow! We read your notes you left in our journal in the cabin - it's amazing that you visited 13-15 waterfalls in the area. No doubt that Western Carolinas is beautiful for waterfall hikes. That's what we love about it too! You are correct that there is a 1.5 mile gravel road to the property. The road is graded on a regular basis and get occasional potholes when we get excessive rain. It sure beats driving in the city and dealing with continuous traffic jams, and the result is nature’s paradise!

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cabin and had great experiences in the surrounding area!! There are so many activities for all ages in the Western Carolinas! Nothing beats the nature surroundings and enjoying coffee in the mornings and wine at sunset on the porch! Many people do inquire about our 2 mile gravel road to the property. This is common in the mountain areas. It does take approximately 3.5 - 4 minutes traveling at 12-15 mph. It takes 12-15 minutes to get to downtown Black Mountain with a super Ingles grocery store. We typically stop at the Ingles on our way home from our daily outings to pick up fresh food to cook for dinner each night!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in this mountain getaway with all the comforts of home! There is a 1.5-mile gravel road to the property that is graded on a regular basis. Additionally, we have paved the steep part of our driveway so 2-wheel drive vehicles may easily drive to/from this cabin. It is very safe and the nature paradise at the end is worth the trip! Four-wheel drive is only required late December to February for possible snow conditions.
