"Our room had a smoke smell as soon as we opened the door... Probably dirty carpet smell. Then, the toilet has a hair on it. So, I cleaned that. No Air conditioning at all. You have to open a window and bring your own fan. The ceiling in the bathroom has mold spots. Did I mention, NO AIR CONDITIONING? The lobby has character with paintings of famous people that stayed here in the 60s, 70s, 80s... Continental breakfast of muffins was 630 -9 am. We opted for McDonald's. I would not stay here again. "

"I didn’t have much expectation when we booked so getting and being there for 2 night exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. "

"The mansion is amazing and worth seeing, but it's a Victorian mansion and is more of a museum then a working inn. Also, while the owners are very nice, the amenities are definitely lacking and you really are not allowed to do anything inside or within the grounds with cameras and detectors everywhere except the rooms. Be aware of the no shoe policy in the house and the lack of private baths. It really feels more like an Air B&B. Still it was a nice room to come back to every night and unique experience."
