"This is an older facility with dated decorating, but the parking is convenient and our room was clean. This facility is good value for the money and is well suited to a budget conscious taveller"
"Nipigons gem, very clean and comfortable. Room is small but if you’re just sleeping there it’s a great place to get rested. Don’t forget to eat at Ducky’s! It’s a one of a kind place too."
"This is a very cool and large 1930s inn with a very colorful history. It appeared that there were only two people working there while we were staying there, and they were working VERY hard to provide the best experience. The inn itself is pretty funky, but in a good way - lots of interesting and fun midcentury details to check out while exploring the premises. You really feel like you are stepping back in time while there. (My understanding is a large company has recently purchased the property and extensive renovations are planned for Winter 2026-27, which should help realize the property’s full potential.) The room itself was SPOTLESSLY clean and comfortable. The lady running the front desk was an absolute sweetheart, very friendly, personable and warm; she was one of the most positive aspects of our stay! Likewise, the woman managing the housekeeping was similarly friendly and helpful. This was without a doubt the most memorable lodging we’ve had during a 3-week drive across Canada. RECOMMENDED!!"
"Rooms/staff/property was top notch. I thought price was way too high for a Sunday/Monday. As well food was just ok in the restaurant. Only My opinion…staff in the restaurant/bar They could sell ice to an eskimo. Nice to see people with charisma and that are out going especially with youth and this digital age.
Only two gripes
#1) they were cleaning/washing down the bricks where one would park when checking in so it was closed with pylons. When I’m paying 400.00 plus a night get the staff to do that job early a.m. and not during check in hours.
#2) the area west of the hotel….”other side of the tracks” is a little rough around the edges…some of the places a tourist wanted to visit were closed Sunday/Monday which is when we were there and looking forward to. No fault of the hotel but the next time someone from the chamber of commerce visits might want to mention police foot patrol presence and to clean up the walkway over the tracks. My chicken barn smelt better"
Lakefront cozy cottage on beautiful Lake Superior. Close to hiking and skiing.
10/10 Excellent
"The views are amazing, the property is in top notch condition for both functionality and beautiful decor, lots of thought and care went into it! The nights by the fire on Lake Superior were magical. If you are a party crowd, look elsewhere, we don't want you to ruin it for people who appreciate the things around them. For families with older kids (but not cell phone captive teenagers), or a romantic getaway, this place is a gem! And yes, it does have excellent wi-fi if you do have one of those teenagers in tow.."
Beautiful 2-bedroom character home in the heart of downtown Thunder Bay
8/10 Good
"House was great, equipped with everything you need. Back yard was clean and pet friendly, just not a great neighbourhood. Many cameras and auto door locks, felt safe none the less."
