Great potential, but needs some TLC…
The cabin is nice, and fit our family of 5 needs. We liked the location. We were very bothered with the lack of upkeep of the property. We had to run the water, for 2 1/2 hours, our first full day there to get the rotten egg smell out of the water tank. The grass was knee high and the slope to the creek is an extremely steep hill. We specifically wanted this cabin for the creek access and we were not able to enjoy our time outside. We did address our concerns on day one with the property manager and with it being a holiday weekend they were unable to get someone out to the property. They did say that there had been recent storms and that could be why the grass was so high, but they did have services scheduled for that. My honest review is that this cabin has great potential, and with some good investments (like some sort of walkway to the creek); it would be an amazing spot! We were unfortunately disappointed, because we had intended some quality at the cabin with kids outside.

Sugar Creek Retreat - Blue Ridge
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the property is nice and low-key but it could use just a little TLC. The gravel driveway is treacherous, very steep driving in and out. Driving out is the most difficult. More gravel needs to be put in as ruts are beginning to develop. All of the TV remote controls needed new batteries as did the game room smoke detector and CO detector (which beeped constantly even after batteries were replaced). Roasting marshmallows or hotdogs at night was out of the question at the firepit because the back flood lights were not working. The creek is not a "babbling over the rocks" type of creek that one normally finds in north Georgia and there is a deep drop off to enter the creek, making it not accessible for small children to wade or play in. From the pictures one cannot see these details and nature of the creek. The outside light for hot tub was not working but a wiggle to the bulb fixed it and the teenage boys enjoyed the hot tub nightly. These are all relatively minor things that can easily be remedied by housekeeping checking that everything is in working order before guests arrive. Instructions were for guests to check everything within two hours of arrival and after that it was you have accepted the cabin as is. Well, you cannot possibly check all things in that time frame. Details need more attention for the safety, convenience and comfort of guests before they arrive. We enjoyed our stay, sightseeing & enjoyed several waterfalls in the area.

Great property in between it all
Quick drive to Blue Ridge and hiking access but far away enough to feel away from it all. The large, open creek and area out back is what made this property special. The house itself needs a lot of little maintenance repairs but no ‘show stopping’ issues.

Weekend getaway
Life is crazy with our work schedules, we brought out adult children up for an extended weekend and had a great time!! The cabin had everything we needed. The driveway was scary, thought we were never getting out of it but we figured a trick out. Everything was clean. Downstairs bed slightly uncomfortable, my old bones are sensitive. Location was great! We will be back!

Beautiful cabin but unpaved streets!
I will note that the access to the creek/river is a little steeper of a hill then we realized from the pictures and just wanted to put it out there so others can take that into account! it was beautiful and we had a great time!Our only complaint is the driveway, our SUV got stuck multiple times. It’s gravel and with any rain it is steep and impossible to get up.

We loved staying here. It is so beautiful, peaceful, and close to Blue Ridge. The house is spacious and clean, and the view is awesome.

Perfect for our family with room to spare!
We came for a long weekend and the cabin was great! Gravel road and driveway so be prepared, but no issues with either! Had plenty of room for our 4, and room for 2 more of we needed. VERY close to everything downtown, plenty of towels and left detergent for laundry if needed. Thanks so much and we'll definitely be staying here again!

We Loved This Property!
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We came prepared with all the extras we needed thanks to the effective communication from the booking process. The beds slept great, the property was nice and quiet. The grill worked perfectly. The creek was downhill, but you could hear it from the cabin. Very peaceful and the walk wasn't that bad. The only complaint would be that the grass around back porch needed to be cut, but other than that it was perfect for our family of 6 (all age groups). We had a great time. Worst part was having to leave.

Perfect Getaway
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Cabin is as described and very cozy. The pool table and hot tub were perfect on the rainy day we had. Kitchen very well stocked and the gas grill cooked perfectly. This will definitely be on our list of return to properties.
