Weekend Getaway

We truly had a fantastic thanksgiving together as a family and made great memories at the cabin. Location was the best…only a couple minutes from Blue Ridge, and the BMT literally at the driveway. The cabin is so warm and welcoming. We love the outdoor areas with the dock, fire pit, and hot tub. It’s really well done!

Perfectly Fall

Love the cabin, the lake, the chapel, everything. It was the perfect little place. Road is a bit narrow getting to the cabin but it was manageable. Love the seclusion the scenery.

Relaxing Getaway

Nice pet friendly cabin close to Blue Ridge. The fireplace was wonderful. We couldn't use the outdoor firepit because of a burn ban, but we enjoyed the deck and hot tub. We had a relaxing week and it was great to be able to have our dogs.

We had the best time! Cabin was so cute! The hiking trail was right next to the cabin! My family really enjoyed this visit to Georgia!

The cabin was super nice. I liked the location but we were also right beside the walking trail.

Only complaint is one roll of toilet paper is not enough for a cabin of this size for more than one night.

Beautiful and peaceful

Absolutely excellent cabin, and the lake out back is so quiet and peaceful. Perfect location, quiet neighborhood but only 5 minutes from Blue Ridge, and the Benton Mackaye trail literally right outside your door. Would love to come back! Pictures are accurate, I definitely recommend!

We had a great couple of days celebrating my wife's birthday on our first visit to Blue Ridge. We explored the area a little and got into town for lunch one day but especially enjoyed relaxing on the dock and enjoying the peace and quiet. We would definitely consider staying here again and look forward to a return trip to Blue Ridge.

Wonderful cabin in the mountains. The weather was great with highs in the 60's and cooler mornings! We enjoyed the area State Parks and just driving around! The screen porch drinking coffee then screen porch in the evening with a glass of wine!

Beautiful cabin on serene lake. Well kept property, very clean. Great walking in general area, and fantastic hiking trails in short distance that we enjoyed with our labrador retrievers. Shopping amenities close by in Ellijay. Relaxing get away.

Cute and cozy cabin. Nice amenities and view of the lake. Quiet! Would have liked an electric fire place to take out the chill in the morning. The Blue Ridge area is beautiful!

Morning Star on the Lake

Perfect Family Oasis

We booked this property very last minute and am so glad we found it! Mary was very quick to respond to my messages. My kids (5 & 8) loved the hot tub! We all loved being on the water, having a fire pit to make s’mores, and even ventured on the trail that was right next to the property. It’s a quick drive to downtown Blue Ridge, which we always love to visit. Will definitely be staying here again!

A cabin that’s just right

The cabin was just the right size for a small family at two bedrooms/one bath. Very clean and decorated beautifully. Nice touches like having dry firewood when we arrived on a cold rainy evening were a nice touch. The road to the cabin was paved and although tight, made for an easier commute than others. A beautiful setting on a lake that will definitely be enjoyed

A good stay. Could be even better.

Overall it’s a good stay. We really enjoyed the lake view from the kitchen window. We wished the shower water could be warmer so we could have had a nice hot shower starting the day and before going to bed. Shower temperatures should be bumped up during the cold season. Also the ground at the fire pit is rough and not level. Hopefully they can level it off so sitting around the pit is more enjoyable.

Morning Star on the Lake

We loved sitting in the eating area with the panaromic views of the Fall leaves and the lake, as well as the fire pit and the fireplace. The cabin is decorated very cute, with bears everywhere. The screened-in porch is lovely -- we enjoyed sitting in the wicker rocking chairs with our glasses of wine, looking at the lake and the Fall leaves. The hot tub is very nice as well. TV reception and the Internet were great, and there is a supply of movies and board games. We cooked out on the grill, and walked the little trail that runs alongside the cabin. The property is on a gentle slope, which we liked, and parking was easy and level. It was a quiet setting. While the beds are not comfortable at all, we enjoyed our days at the cabin. The proximity to Blue Ridge was outstanding, and we loved touring the town and visiting Mercier Orchards. We also enjoyed having a washer/dryer in the cabin, which made cleaning up a cinch. Bring extra firewood and Duraflame logs, because the fireplace and fire pit are something you will want to use extensively in cool or rainy weather. We were surprised how cozy the cabin is when the temperatures dropped -- we didn't need to run the heat at all.

This is an amazing getaway home in the mountains of Georgia.

This house was perfect for a three day weekend. We arrived in Friday and left of Sunday. We did not even need to venture out to the surrounding areas. This house has two bedrooms and one full bathroom, which is plenty of room for a couple or small family. The inside of the house was very nice and had everything we needed for cooking. The screened in porch was a bonus for having morning coffee or evening wine. We enjoyed the privacy of the hot tub, which is located underneath the porch. We utilized the small dock on the pond to get some afternoon sunshine. We did not use the fire pit because it had previously rained. We used the canoe to venture out into the pond. It was so peaceful and quiet. I can not give this house a five star rating due to the squeaking beds. I’m not sure if it was the box springs or the bed frames, but whatever it was, it was loud and annoying while trying to sleep!! That is the only complaint that we have. We plan on booking for the Fall if it’s available!! We highly recommend this property!! Joe & Sista Liz

Beware horrific extra fees - otherwise excellent stay in beautiful setting

The advertised nightly price is highly misleading, as the total price for a 2-day weekend ended up being 96.4% higher than 2 days at the advertised rate, due to extra fees and taxes. Vrbo won't let me list the rates and fees in dollars, so I'll list them by percent surcharge over the total base rate for two nights: Cleaning fee: 24.9% Service fee: 20.9% Reservation fee: 14.7% Damage protection "waiver": 14.9% Tax: 21.0% In what world do unadvertised fees and taxes nearly double the advertised price of a service or product? To put the outlay in round terms, we expected to pay about 2 benjamins a night for a total of about 4 benjamins for the weekend, but ended up paying nearly 8 benjamins for the weekend, which works out to be nearly 4 benjamins per night! In my opinion, charging 96.4% higher than the advertised rate, through unadvertised fees and taxes, is bait-and-switch and unethical. I discovered all the extra fees during the reservation process, after I'd already gotten my family excited about going. Also, the damage protection "waiver" was never refunded (as of 2 weeks after departure). We didn't damage anything, and we cleaned dishes and followed exit instructions to the letter. All these fees make a little weekend stay horrifically expensive. Small quibbles: master BR door does not latch / lock, and master BR ceiling fan is missing the speed chain control, so runs only on high speed. Homeowner or property manager should fix. Wi-Fi is slow (1.5 Mbps). Also we didn't receive the canoe lock code after submitting the required canoe risk waiver, so had to call the property manager the day after arriving to get the lock code. As for the positives: Weekend stay was otherwise exactly as promised, with a cozy cabin in a beautiful setting with good shade and overlooking a little lake. Hot tub and canoe were nice enhancements. Too bad that our most enduring memory is the exorbitant hidden fees.
