Lovely week at The Edison cabin in Blue Ridge, GA
We spent a week with friends (young 60 yr olds) at The Edison cabin hosted by Escape to Blue Ridge cabin rentals.
Located 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and 30 minutes from historic Ellijay. Both cities offer great dining, bars and shopping. About an hour away is the charming German themed town of Helen with many shops selling German souvenirs and multiple restaurants with brats, pretzels and schnitzels on the menu. Three minutes away is the Taccoa River grill - Excellent dining option!
The cabin itself was perfect for two couples as there are two on-suite bedrooms - one on the 3rd floor and one on the 1st floor. There is also a bedroom on the main floor (2nd floor) that shares a full bathroom with the common area.
The Edison is not a brand new cabin but has been updated beautifully. It's comfortably appointed with woodsy themed furniture and decor. The kitchen has an island perfect for gathering and is stocked with any small appliance you can think of as well as utensils for the gas bbq grill which we used often.
Getting to the cabin is easy but I will say that the paved, single lane road is quite steep. If you don't like roller coasters keep your eyes closed. The property is the first driveway off the secondary road and was little closer to the main road than expected but that didn't at all affect our experience sitting in the rockers on the porch or hanging by the fire pit.
We recommend this property for location and comfort.
