Hotel 39 Jamaica

8/10 Good

"Room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Bed was comfortable a& air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was spacious with good shower & toiletries provided. Hotel provides luggage storage which was handy as we arrived before check in. Staff are all very nice and polite & hotel felt very safe. Great location but a little noisy with clubs next door and main road traffic. If you are a light sleeper you may find this a problem. My criticisms of the hotel are that the breakfasts were not good. I tried the American and Jamaican breakfasts. Service was very slow and breakfast was cold every day. 1st I ordered scrambled egg, bacon & French toast. Toast cold & soggy, eggs cold & bacon was inedible cremated into a lump of stuck together slices with the texture of shoe leather. We thought maybe it was an off day as they seemed short staffed however the breakfast was the same again in the days that followed and we decided to skip breakfast after the 3rd poor breakfast. We didn't complain about the breakfast because we felt like the wait staff were busy and short staffed & everything else was good. My other critique would be that the mini fridge in the room was not cold enough and you could only get ice from the hotel bar, not a huge issue however we came back around 10pm one evening after dinner and asked the receptionist in the hotel for ice and she advised it was only available from the bar & bar was closed, not helpful. Everything else was great and we would definitely here again"

"Elsewhere never lets us down. This was our second visit there and it did not disappoint. The staff was excellent, generous, and kind. The service was consistently attentive, the atmosphere was relaxing, and every detail—from the cleanliness of the rooms to the quality of the amenities—was handled with genuine care.The Chef meals were delicious and nothing we requested was difficult for her to prepare. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail consistently make each meal memorable. We enjoyed every bit of it and always had a pleasant surprise for dessert. "Uncle R, was generous and shared lots of details about Jamaica, and its culture. We appreciated everything he did and the care into every detail.We all looked forward to seeing him each morning.The maid made sure our rooms were spotless and clothes were clean. No task was ever to much for her to do. Her hard work and the pride she took didn't go unnoticed. K is an excellent addition to the team. He ensured everything we needed outside was ready and organized. He was also helpful with preparing delicious beverages for us to enjoy poolside.We look forward to returning in 2027."

"We had an excellent time at Polkeris. We coskted Jamaica for a funeral and experienced so much care and courtesy that it made the trip so much lighter. Peter and Elaine have created a 5 star experience with attention to every detail. The food is a 10. The rooms are a ten. The pool are a 10 and the hospitality is a 10. We will be back."

Chateau Margarite Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Chateau Margarite was just the place we were expecting arriving from a long trip from the US. The place was peaceful though it was on the side of the main road. The staff were so helpful to us especially with three kids. The room was very comfortable. The restaurant chef cooked the best food for us the following day for breakfast. Thank you so much. We will be back again by the end of our trip and will sure book in this place the next time we come back."

"My family has stayed at a few vacation villas in the past, but this villa was TOP TIER! The house was beautiful. Every room was perfectly designed and decorated. The grounds were well maintained. The views are unmatched. The staff was amazing. Chef Vincent can COOK! We can’t wait to come back next year. Thank you Joe for extending your home to the public, truly restorative! "
