"Leaving aside the novelty value, this is an excellent hotel. Superbly appointed room with excellent bathroom and everything works perfectly: near-silent but efficient climate control, faultless WiFi connectivity and TV casting. The restaurant is a treat, creative and beautifully presented menu choices and fabulous breakfast choices. Most of all the staff made the visit special; attentive, warm, courteous and helpful. "Mabel's Cottage is fabulous. The views of Roughtor over the lake are stunning. The cottage has everything you need and is spotlessly clean. We wish we could have stayed longer to really appreciate it. Hosts, John and Wendy were very helpful and made us feel really welcome. The christmas decorations and the cream tea were lovely touches.Thank you."

"We stayed for short break at Christmas. Everything we needed, the kitchen was well perfect, and felt so homely. Lovely touches, mince pies left, stock of wood for fire, waste bags, salt pepper, milk... Just the little things. Truly happy, and now relaxed after lovely break. Only thing , we didn't want it to end... Thanks again "
