Charming private townhouse-style lodging, a block from Marblehead Harbor

Chestnut Sweet, a two-floor townhouse-style apartment, is located in its own building in one of Marblehead's historic neighborhoods, called the Shipyard. Ideal for two adults (or for a couple and one guest), the Sweet is quiet and private, a gentle, fireplaced respite from your day's activities: swimming at nearby beaches, playing tennis and pickleball, sailing, shopping, and dining in town, and enjoying Marblehead's rich history. Everything is within easy walking distance. The Sweet features, on its first floor, a sitting room on the garden with a convertible love seat (to a double guest bed if needed0 and large closet; a living room with flatscreen TV and gas fireplace; a kitchenette (coffeemaker, countertop oven (we are not zoned for a full-size stove), microwave, electric kettle, and small fridge; full bath with rain shower, laundry facilities, and easy, private ground-floor access. Its second floor offers a queen bed, half-bath, skylights, ceiling fan, large bureau, and closet. The Sweet has full AC, plus wonderful sound-proofing throughout, making it a truly relaxing and private get-away space. Guests will have bikes, beach chairs, and beach towels to use, and a pair of congenial hosts who are available 24/7.

The cutest little cottage! Francie was amazing to work with and you can tell they care about your stay! The neighborhood is safe and quiet. It’s only a 20-25 uber ride into the heart of Salem if you don’t want to drive. I will definitely save this as a must return property!

Charming private townhouse in beautiful Marblehead, Ma.

Warm, welcoming, beautifully decorated, everything needed for a relaxing visit. Francie and Bob are wonderful, affable hosts. They are truly attentive to every little detail, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion!The neighborhood is charming and quiet but within a few minutes drive to several affordable and delicious restaurants. This was our second visit, can't wait to return!

The Perfect Getaway

We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Francie and Bob treated us as if we knew each other forever. The house is very clean and cozy. Plus it’s only a short little ride to Salem. Will definitely be booking here again in the future.

A cozy spot

Beautiful. The “cottage”was perfect and the location couldn’t be better for us. We were able to easily get around the North Shore to visit family and friends, and yet have a lovely spot to relax after busy days. Marblehead is a wonderful place to stay with lots of little parks to explore and many restaurants to choose from You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful stay in Marblehead!

This place was just so lovely! Francie had everything we needed and more, such a wonderful host. It was great for our trip to Salem (about 15 minute drive away), and it was nice to get away from the craziness at the end of the day. We also got some time in the lovely town of Marblehead. The harbor was just down the street, and such a beautiful view! This place was perfect, would absolutely stay here again!

Helped Make the Perfect Valentine's Weekend

We genuinely had the best experience we've ever had with staying at a rental property. Francie and Bob are lovely people. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay we could have possibly had. We were greeted with a basket of goodies, fruit, muffins, and some of the most comfortable robes we've ever worn.The property is exactly as described and is a great utilization of the space. Francie and Bob made themselves readily available to help with everything. I would highly recommend a stay here

Back Again!

We stayed at this lovely little home for a full month a year ago. We stayed another 8 nights this time. You just cannot beat this property or the hosts! Our previous stay was in the summertime. This stay was over Thanksgiving and some cold weather. The Sweet has the greatest fireplace that quickly warms you and creates the coziest atmosphere. We loved it and you will too. We highly recommend the Sweet!

Francie and Bob were amazing hosts. You can see the love and detail they have put into the Chestnut sweet. Everything you could possibly need they have thought of. We enjoyed talking with them and loved their restaurant recommendations. We loved the location and would definitely stay again.

Over due vacation

Chestnut Sweet exceeded our expectations. Couldn’t have asked for a better location for exploring the nearby towns, such as Salem, Ipswich, Gloucester, and even the big city of Boston. At the end of the day, it was always so nice to come back to such a relaxing and welcoming vacation home. Francie and Bob are such lovely people. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful slice of Massachusetts

Stayed here this summer as part of our road trip to MA. Spent 4 nights in this absolutely lovely little townhome in Marblehead while we explored the Salem area, which was just a little over a 10 minute drive away. Francie was so welcoming when we arrived and she had a very thoughtful welcome basket with fruit, cheese, crackers, and chocolate that we put to good use during our time there. Marblehead is such a cute and charming town, and this place, which is behind Francie and Bob's home but still feels very private, was just a 2 minute walk from the picturesque cove. We loved every bit of our stay here and would certainly come back again!

Ideal for weekend getaway with friends!

This was the ideal place for us to spend our long Labor Day weekend visiting Marblehead and Salem! Francie was beyond welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was cozy and clean and the extra special touches made us really feel at home. We had 3 adults and it fit us perfectly. The location was top notch with the ocean right at the end of the street. I can’t recommend this place enough!

A wonderful week!

My husband and I had a wonderful first visit to the Boston area, and staying at this VRBO was a large part of the joy. Francie and Bob have thought of every little detail and made the place feel like home. Plenty of natural light, soft and warm blankets and the coziest furniture. They even have a binder full of instructions and recommendations at the ready. And the space was even more spacious than it looked in photos. It was a delightful stay and we hope to come back soon.
