Lovely location, close to town, with a charming garden and two tortoises my daughter adored. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade pastries, good coffee and cheerful, welcoming staff.
Unfortunately, our first room had visible mold and a strong musty smell. As someone with asthma, I struggled to breathe and couldn't sleep that night. Despite explaining this, the receptionist initially dismissed it as something they could simply clean. Expedia was very helpful after I shared photos. The hotel then suggested moving us to another room for one night and back again the next day, which was unreasonable with my elderly mother and young daughter. When I objected, the woman at reception, who seemed to be the manager, questioned whether it was even mold and responded quite unprofessionally. I found the lack of empathy very disappointing. Even worse, they called me while I was enjoying the sea the following day, insisting we return to the original room. The lack of empathy was very disappoint
Thankfully, our second room was larger, sunny, upstairs and absolutely spotless. Had we received it initially, our experience would have been completely different.
Housekeeping was excellent whenever provided, but we had to request cleaning and fresh towels. Daily service should be routine, as guests don't always have time to ask.
The property has great potential, but mold prevention, cleanliness and complaint handling need serious attention. I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
