"We were initially hesitant as the property had no reviews but that's only because Pat is just starting to rent it out, so definitely don't let that stop you. In fact, book now before the word on this hidden gem gets out. The house is immaculate and modern but designed with a lodge feel and many cute details throughout. It is spacious, with several common areas both indoors and outdoors - the pictures simply don't do it justice. One unique feature , which we loved is a separate boathouse turned into another large room directly over the water, which is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunsets ,with plenty of space to relax, play games, watch TV etc. My husband actually used it to work for a part of the week - the WiFi was incredibly reliable, even to run Teams calls.There’s a fully stocked, gourmet kitchen with anything you may need to whip up meals , while overlooking the lake. There are a few mom and pop spots just down the road and bigger grocery stores/ restaurants 15-20 mins away.The house is directly lakeside, with very clean , shallow water (for about 15-20 feet) which was perfect for play with our toddler. There is also a swim platform as well as kayaks, a canoe and a paddle board to enjoy the lake and a fire pit for cooler summer nights making smores. Pat is a wonderful host, with communication, helpful with local recommendations and very accommodating. He made sure we had all that we needed for a wonderful stay. We truly didn't want to leave!"

I must say it's a family friends place so I'll just call them myself for my next stay,and save the fifty buck cleaning fee that the owner doesn't get. they pay their own cleaners. sorry VRBO. I will how ever use the service for many other stays but not this one."

"This is our second stay at High Pines cabin, and it’s always a pleasure. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. We enjoy sitting on the screened in-porch, listening to the rooster crow, or the birds chirping or the river ever cruising by. Thendara and Old Forge are close and there are a few good golf courses not too far away."

"The space was perfectly supplied. Honestly we weren't bothered that the house was so close to the road. The grounds were spacious - good for snowmobile trailers.I would like to experience it in summer; Otter Lake is beautiful."

"Yes, this home is every bit as cozy & comfy as described! Immediately felt its charm. Beautiful view of the water from the sliding glass doors. Pine Tree Inn for a meal is less than 5 min. away. Snowmobile access was just down the road 1/4 mi. For any ATT cell users, there is minimal to no signal, but if you stand just outside you can hop onto the WiFi. Well stocked with all necessities! Our group were coffee drinkers so a regular coffee maker would have been useful vs single serve. I would add a crockpot to the wishlist. The owners had great communication and were truly accommodating! Would not hesitate to return!"
