The place is dirty: the rooms, sheets, towels. Corridors had trash that had clearly been there for a long time. The rooms have non-smoking signs but the rooms and halls smell of smoke. There are signs in the rooms with the number for the local police?! At 7:15am, there was no sign of coffee or even an area for the included breakfast but I would not have taken advantage of it anyway since the place was so dirty.

The room was dirty. It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in any corner in a long while. The hallways were dark. There was a man panhandling out front, and it had an air of neglect to the whole place. The bed was comfortable enough, but I tried not to walk around without my shoes. We would have left, but there was no refund and we figured we could survive a night. The name sounded so pleasant and nostalgic that we got sucked in.

This place is not great. Nestled between McDs & Wendys must have it challenges. One being keeping the rodents away (not the motel's fault). A mouse almost fell on my head when I was walking thru the door. I feel the staff does what they can to maintain the place but there were definite issues. There were dirty towels left in my bathroom and the rest of the place didn't look well cleaned. The tv didn't work and only one light worked. At 2 am a guest started screaming in the hallway, having an obvious psychotic episode. Again, not the motel's fault however this went on for an hour (in the hallway) and no one came to help or stop him. Staying here was pointless because I only got 3 hours of sleep and bolted out of the place without breakfast.

Overall I was happy with the stay. The only two issues were with the TV having flaky connections which was annoying. Second issue was I went to check out this morning. No one was at the desk. Hit the button to alert someone to come and check me out. Hit the button a second time 5 minutes later and waited another five minutes. Still no response. I gave up and left the keys in the deposit box. I would have preferred getting a final accounting.

The room was very dated with cheap furnishings. Although it appeared that the room had been painted in the last few years, the paint was spotty in places. The bathroom vanity was chipped and was not sized properly so that the toilet seat went underneath the counter. The bathtub had been refinished sloppily and the handlebar was missing. The knob of the bathroom door was not secured in the door so the door would not completely close. There were no Kleenex or cups in the room and the toilet tissue was one-ply. The tv did not work initially. The desk clerk got the tv working and brought cups immediately upon request. The sheets were clean. The towels were just ok.
